About this property
Waterfront lake-house apartment close to casinos, Mystic, and RI beaches
Relax at our DIRECT WATERFRONT 1 BR studio garden-level apartment with private entrance on a quiet cove of a busy recreational pond nestled in the woods. Swim, boat, fish, jet/water ski, & more. Enjoy beautiful water views, an in-ground pool w/ deck, large yard with beach area and fire pit, kayaks, hammock, basketball hoop, & wildlife. Perfect for families, couples, bass fishermen, and boaters. Peaceful setting with privacy and serenity, yet all the action of the pond, the casinos, and Mystic!
Welcome to our ONE bed, studio apartment/guest suite in the walk-out lower level of our home. We are located on a cove of a large recreational pond with all the excitement of boating, kayaking, paddle boarding jet skiing, fishing, nature watching, etc. Our home offers the rare opportunity to enjoy the busy activity of the pond and also a quiet escape when you are ready to relax.
This is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and recharge. Connect with nature or your inner zen.
We are centrally and conveniently located 45 mins from Providence and 52 mins from Hartford. We are 1 hour 40 mins from Boston and 3 hours from NYC. Historic Mystic, CT is 30 minutes away.
Foxwoods Resort and Casino (and the brand new Great Wolf Lodge) are a short 15 minute drive. Mohegan Sun is located just 20 minutes away.
Enjoy a day of adventure and fun out on the water or simply relax by the pool. Then fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and peepers. Wake up to song birds and sipping your morning coffee by the pond or pool, watching bald eagles soar, great blue heron hunt for breakfast, ducks and geese paddle, and deer graze. Whether you’re seeking solitude, traveling as a couple or family, or just need to recharge, our rental suite offers an unforgettable getaway.
The main pond is a very short paddle or boat ride from our dock. The 840 acre pond has plenty of open water to zip around and plenty more spaces on sandbars and near the shore to just set up for the day and float with a cocktail.
Fish from the yard, sandy beach area, or dock. Kayaks, canoes and paddle boards (borrowed or BYO) can be launched from our yard/dock. Optional dock space may be rented for a boat or jet ski which can be launched from the public launch located 5 minutes away. Swimming can be done from the beach or dock but note that there are weeds. A fire pit is located in the middle of the sandy beach area.
Guests enjoy self-check-in at a separate entrance located in the back of the house. You have the entire apartment to yourselves. The yard, pool, dock, beach, driveway, pond and all the rest of the property are accessible and shared only with my family.
The rental suite has a full private bathroom with a shower with great water pressure. Towels, wash cloths, and linens are provided.
Rest comfortably in the bedroom area on a queen bed with multiple pillows and extra blankets.
Relax in the living room with a love seat and a full size sleeper sofa. For the little one, there is also a pack and play with mattress available. Stream your favorite shows on the Smart TV.
The “kitchenette” type area provides the basic necessities for your stay. Including cabinets, a small counter space, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave and mini fridge for your convenience. While there is not a sink or stove, we have supplied some paper/plastic disposable dish-ware, bottled water, coffee k-cups and add-ins to start out your visit. Or really make it vacation and enjoy the local eateries.
Enjoy meals or work remotely in the dining area at the table and four chairs.
Enjoy some downtime using the pool table and family board and card games in the armoire.
Lounge in the sun around the pool on 4 lounge chairs, a dining table with 6 chairs, and another seating area with a couch and chairs around the in-ground pool deck. The pool can be heated for additional fees
Explore the pond using the 3 kayaks, paddle board, and canoe with paddles located on the beach area. We have life jackets that guests may borrow but to ensure that you have the size that fits you or your child, you may wish to bring them along.
Shoot hoops with the basketball hoop in the driveway. If we are around, we can lend you a basketball. But you may also wish to bring your own.

She is good with dogs and adores people. If you don’t want Charlie bothering you, we will do our best to keep her away. But this is her home. She will be on property.

We are excited to share our property but please read below for information about living in a forest so you can decide whether this property is for you.
It’s DARK at night. There are no streetlights in the forest. There are motion detection lights to help guide you on the driveway and to your entrance. If the dark makes you uncomfortable or frightened, this may not be the place for you.
You must be able to navigate a flight large stone steps or walk down the sloped yard to get to the entrance. You must be able to navigate down a sloped walkway to access the pond, beach area, hammock, kayaks, dock, yard etc. The yard and walkways have uneven terrain with stumps and rocks about.
Sometimes the yard will be muddy or wet or have snow, ice, sleet etc on it. Your shoes will get dirty if you walk in it.
Wildlife is abundant. You may see bald eagles, deer, hawks, blue heron, various song birds, hummingbirds, ducks, frogs and toads, fish, geese, turtles, muskrats, and more. You may ALSO see snakes, spiders, mosquitos, gnats, and all other variety of insects. They all live in the woods.
Sometimes these outdoor insects get indoor when guests go in and out. If you happen to see a bug in the apartment, it does not mean we didn’t clean or have a bug problem. It means you are in the woods and it happens.
We have septic. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper and waste. This INCLUDES any wipes (flushable or not), feminine products or applicators, tissues, bandaids/bandages, paper towels, etc.
Absolutely no glass at the pool or pool deck area for any reason whatsoever.
