We had an absolutely wonderful experience!! The property is better than advertised!! Check in and out was smooth. Communication was perfect. We will definitely stay again. Super close to Ballet Austin where my son was doing his summer intensive.

Convenient location to downtown Austin. Convenient parking close to unit & location was nearby to a large grocery store. Our overall experience was diminished when the host called the police the third night of our stay because he thought we were trespassing. Police had guns drawn as we opened the door which made us very uneasy for the rest of our stay in this city location. Owner never checked our reservation or the code that he had provided to us in his instructions for accessing this unit prior to calling 911. We spoke by phone to clarify our reservation. We were sent a box of popcorn kernels with toppings for an apology. We have used VRBO many times and have never experienced anything like this unfortunate mishap. The dishwasher did not work & the smoke detector outside one of the bedrooms were missing. (We are telling the owner this post-stay) Renter beware at this unit.

Hello, thank you for your feedback — we truly regret that this situation affected your stay. That evening, we received an alert that an incorrect access code had been used to enter the unit. In acting to protect our space, we responded in good faith based on that alert. We later learned it was due to a technology issue and miscommunication, and we sincerely apologize for how unsettling that experience was. Once we connected and clarified the reservation, we apologized, provided a refund, and sent a small gift as a gesture for the inconvenience. Regarding the home itself, the unit has been fully compliant with safety requirements, which we also confirmed with Vrbo, and we conduct regular inspections. Out of extra caution, we have since installed a fourth smoke detector outside the bedroom mentioned, even though it is not needed. We also verified after the stay that the dishwasher was functioning properly; the adjacent switch had been turned off during your stay and simply needed to be toggled back on. We hold ourselves to very high standards, and our goal is always to provide every guest with the seamless, comfortable experience reflected across our many positive reviews. This was an isolated situation, and we have taken steps to prevent anything similar going forward. – The Serene Experiences Team
