About this property
The Perch| Black Lake Sunset Views
Escape to The Perch, a beautifully crafted cliffside log cabin with stunning views and sunsets over Black Lake. Perfect for couples, this cozy cabin features warm woodwork, a modern kitchen, furnished deck, and fire pit with Adirondack chairs. Enjoy a heated pool, new playground, 24/7 arcade and vending, including bait and tackle, plus boat and watercraft rentals. Flexible sleeping also makes it great for couples with young kids.
Spaces/Good to know:
The Perch is a beautifully crafted log cabin perched high above Black Lake, combining cozy cabin character with some of our favorite elevated lake and sunset views at Back Bay Campground.
We especially recommend The Perch for couples looking for a relaxing Black Lake getaway. Its warm woodwork, thoughtful craftsmanship, scenic setting, and inviting outdoor spaces give the cabin plenty of character, while flexible sleeping arrangements make it possible to bring one or two young children along.
Beautiful Craftsmanship in a Cozy Space
Enter from the deck into the main living area, where the cabin's warm woodwork and craftsmanship immediately stand out.
The open main room includes a modern kitchen, dining table with seating for four, and comfortable living area. The couch converts into a twin sleeper when additional sleeping space is needed.
The separate bedroom features a custom built-in twin-over-full bunk bed. For couples, the full bed serves as the primary sleeping space while the upper twin can simply remain unused. For couples traveling with young children, the bunk and sleeper sofa provide additional flexibility.
Sleeping arrangements include:
• Bedroom: Built-in twin-over-full bunk bed • Living area: Twin sleeper sofa • Maximum occupancy: 4 guests
A full bathroom with a walk-in shower is conveniently located next to the bedroom.
Cliffside Views & Black Lake Sunsets
One of the best features of The Perch is its setting.
The cabin sits on top of a cliff overlooking Black Lake, giving you beautiful elevated views of the water, and an especially great vantage point for watching the sunset.
Step onto the furnished deck, where a table and seating create the perfect spot for morning coffee, an outdoor meal, or a drink while the sun goes down over the lake.
Nearby, the cabin's fire pit is surrounded by Adirondack chairs, giving you another place to unwind outdoors after a day on Black Lake. A picnic table and grill provide additional space for cooking and dining outside.
Lake & Boat Dock Access
The Perch overlooks Black Lake but does not have a private dock.
Stairs leading down toward the campground's boat dock are located approximately 500 feet from the cabin. This gives guests access to the waterfront while allowing The Perch to remain perched above the lake with its elevated views.
A True Campground Cabin Experience
The Perch is located within Back Bay Campground and close to several RV sites. You'll see neighboring RVs and campers and may hear the normal sounds of campground activity, particularly when the campground is busy.
This is not a secluded cabin in the woods. Instead, The Perch is ideal for guests who enjoy the atmosphere of camping but want to come home to a beautifully finished log cabin with their own kitchen, bathroom, furnished deck, and outdoor gathering space.
You'll also have access to the campground's heated pool, brand-new playground, 24/7 arcade and game room, walking trails, camp store, and 24/7 vending for snacks and drinks plus 24/7 bait and tackle vending.
Pontoon boats, fishing boats, kayaks, and paddleboards are available to rent, subject to availability, season, and weather.
Whether you're watching the sunset from the deck, spending the day on Black Lake, or relaxing around the fire, The Perch offers a cozy cabin experience with beautiful views and campground activities close at hand.
Other details to note:

🌅 Cliffside Lake Views & Sunsets
The Perch sits on top of a cliff overlooking Black Lake. Its elevated setting provides beautiful views of the water and an especially great vantage point for sunsets.
Please note that The Perch has lake views but is not a waterfront cabin with its own private dock.
🛏️ Sleeping Arrangements
• Bedroom: Built-in twin-over-full bunk bed • Living area: Twin sleeper sofa • Maximum occupancy: 4 guests
Because The Perch has a cozy footprint, groups of four should review the sleeping arrangements and photos to make sure the space is a comfortable fit.
🔥 Two Outdoor Spaces
The furnished deck includes a table and seating, making it a great spot for morning coffee, meals, or watching the sunset over Black Lake.
The cabin also has a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, plus a picnic table and grill for outdoor cooking and dining.
🏕️ Please Know: This Is a Campground Cabin
The Perch is located within an active seasonal campground and is close to several RV sites.
You should expect to see neighboring RVs and campers and may hear the normal sounds of campground activity, especially during busy periods.
The Perch is not a secluded cabin in the woods. It's best suited for guests who enjoy the atmosphere of camping but want the comfort, character, and craftsmanship of their own cabin.
