So enjoyable

We stayed for a month. The apartment villa 502 was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful Mountain View’s and quiet. The complex offers 2 large magnificent pools never crowded . We met other interesting guests. We asked for extra things we needed ( more towels, pillows) and the cleaning women provided immediately. Could not get tv to work. Internet worked but was weak at times. We hope to rerun again.

this is the first time i have to report misleading property. Igor the owner very nice man the property description was nothing to our one bedroom unit i’m sure the 2 bedroom may be better ..we had a coach roach .. nothing was acceptable .. we stayed one night and left and didn’t return. we had to book another rental .. no money was offered to us.. Thank you

We liked the place. It is located near a beautiful Flamingo beach. It is equipped enough to make your vacation enjoyable. The host Igor is a very nice guy. Very responsive to your needs. We definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful Property

The buildings and grounds of the property are beautiful. On a hillside so There is a good view from the upper level pool area. The pools are very nice. Close to many things in the area and walking distance to Playa Flamingo and Potrero. The host was very nice, We enjoyed our stay.

Very nice place!

My wife & I rented the #402 on the last 4 days of our "on the road" trip to Costa Rica. The place was very nice, close to fruit stands, grocery store, restaurant and many different beaches (we had a rental SUV). The owner, Igor, was on location during our stay and made sure we had everything required to make our stay enjoyable. The neighbors were both quiet and friendly; we met with some of them at one of the two very nice pools we were using.

This country is so vibrant that it is overwhelming at times.... We hope that next time you visit you will be able to explore more of the wildlife preserve that we have here: Foxes, deer, wildlife of every imaginable type including several varieties of parrots and monkeys are our neighbours.. Your choice of an SUV was a wise one, as it obviously gave you the latitude to visit many of the more remote and lovely beaches and settlements of the area. Restaurants, fresh fruit stands, pubs, social activities, water sports, golfing, tennis... SO much to see and do! limitless experiences. We'll be delighted to see you both again. Could not sleep because the room was so hot. Air conditioning was an extra charge and after requesting it, it did not work. They sent a technician on the second day who said it was fixed. Still did not work and again could not sleep because of heat. Yeh refrigerator did not work and the ice maker did not work. No hot water in the kitchen sink. Only the cold water side had water. Taking a shower was like being in a sauna The pictures it was advertised with must have been taken the day it was built. Left on the 3rd day of a 7 day rental and went rent a motel room. Refused any type of refund. Villa Casa Lomas will never get anymore business from me and if VBRO supports rentals like this, I may not ever used them again. Spent $300 on food which was one of the reasons for renting something with a kitchen and never cooked the first thing because it was so hot. Turned out costing me twice what I should have spent because of additional motel and eating in restaurants. The worst experience I have ever had

Obviously, different people see and experience things differently. These folks arrived 2 days before Christmas and immediately – before even seeing the accommodations or the A/C ‘s - announced that they would not be staying for the contracted week, as one of them was having family problems and they would have to return to San Jose after only 3 nights. We explained that there would be no refund, as they had given us no advance notice of their intention to shorten their stay and were therefore unable to re-rent the premises to someone else… At the time, this was apparently no problem and he accepted that shortening his stay was strictly out of our control… The next morning the gentleman reported that there was insufficient air conditioning in his unit and he could not sleep and no hot water in his unit. We investigated and followed up with a call to a repairman, who reported that the A/C temperature was set at 16 degrees inside the unit. As a result, the compressor had frozen up. (The outside temperature was then 36 degrees!) The technician also established that the hot water tank was operating fine, yet the client later reported that - somehow mysteriously- “the hot water in the sink did not work…{but} taking a shower was like being in a sauna” We offered them another suite (free of charge), - which they accepted…Then he reported that the refrigerator and ice maker did not work in either rental unit! We called another technician who reported that they were all working just fine! Then this gentleman claimed that the air conditioner did not work sufficiently for them. Again we called a technician and checked the output of the A/C unit ourselves. The technician confirmed that the A/C was operating fine. In short, we went out of our way to ensure that both accommodations that these folks took possession of were working well The loss of food was never mentioned during the stay. (The bar fridge would not have held $300 worth of food!) - Neither us nor our staff saw any evidence of such spoiled food. All of the photos were taken recently and NOT “at the time of construction”. In all, we regret these folks having had an unpleasant experience…They arrived here with an intention to leave after 3 nights – and they did. We tried to do our level best for these folks - as we do with all of our guests. At the time we had 52 other guests here who were clearly happy with their accommodations, the facilities, etc. We have not received complaints from anyone else!

Paradise found at Villa Casa Loma / Playa Flamingo

After the month of Feb in Nosara, CR, we had kept 3 last days to visit another community closer to Liberia for the icing on our cake at the end of our trip. We tripped over Villa Casa Loma on VRBO and stayed 3 nights. Villa Casa Loma is just outside Playa Flamingo, and is a most unique stone structure of 5 buildings built on a hill overlooking Playa Flamingo. The Villas are beautiful...ours was a spacious 1 BR apartment in Villa 4. It was so peaceful and tranquil...steps below was an immense swimming pool near Villa 5 with another pool above at Level 2. We were greeted by Tom...who showed us around the property, and helped by Emilio with our collection of bags. (After all we were travelling a month). Tom was an awesome host, encouraging us to explore the property (I call castle). The 3 local staff (Nicaragüenses) I met over the next 3 days...Emilio, Willy and Byron were friendly staff who allowed me to practice my bad Spanish. Gracias amigos por tu pacience! I also loved learning about your home country as well. Interaction with other guests was an option, as there were many other friendly visitors, with a perfect balance of privacy too. There were a couple of local watering holes and cafes within walking distance, but a golf cart rental would be ideal to help get you around. We did meet a local through a bar server, who was a text message away to help transport us anywhere we needed. Don’t be shy as Costa Ricans want to help. Hey Adventure at its best! Can’t wait to return. I literally was in tears when I left! Sappy I know. Please do yourself a favor and visit this gem! Thank you Tom & Igor! So glad we found you!

We are always happy to assist in planning trips to the many local beaches - each with its own special "character" - area towns, cultural tours, river cruises, birding trips, fishing, snorkelling and surfing excursions, shopping trips, land exploration and horseback tours. Golf and tennis are readily available, too. We're happy to help you follow your interests. An almost endless variety of wonderful restaurants dot the area, so special dining experiences are never far away! Come for the tranquillity ... Come for the excitement ... Come for the adventure ... Rustic but Comfy !!!!

My friend and I spent 2 wonderful weeks with birds, animals and lush vegetation. The venue was Villas Casa Loma. Our "rustic" stone apartment was set into a hillside among a variety of trees and palms looking over a lovely valley with hills in the background. To say "lovely setting" is an understatement! Thank you, Tom and Igor, for your help in finding us really interesting things to see and do. Your restaurant suggestions were terrific and the day trips and tours you suggested were inspired! Close to the nearest beaches, shops, restaurants and supermarkets, too. We really enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many interesting people from all over the world who were also staying at the Villas during our visit. Two magical swimming pools were a real bonus for us. The peace and quiet there was wonderful. Plenty to see and do without straining the budget. We hired a small 4 X4 and were happy we did, as we did a lot of exploring on our own. The facilities at Villas Casa Loma are amazing! (Our own apartment was what the owners described as "rustic" - constructed almost totally of stones - both inside and out - giving it an almost Mediterranean look and feel!) We are planning our next visit to Costa Rica and hope that Suite 402 will be available for us again.

Why they chose this property

After travelling extensively through many countries of the world, we came to Costa Rica for the first time - more than 30 years ago and instantly fell in love with the nature, people, flora and fauna of this gentle country. Almost 30 years ago (1989) we purchased a very large natural preserve nestled above the Pacific Ocean in the very sleepy, quiet community of Flamingo Beach in the Pacific North-Western province of Guanacaste. We never looked back - never regretted this decision. In fact, we started by building our first house. Then a guest house, followed by a pool. Before we knew it, we had designed and built a unique complex of beautiful Villas with a large pool - all built with the highest regard for their tropical surroundings and natural setting. From every window or terrace, one can appreciate the magic of Nature. It has been very rewarding personally for us to create this unique little corner of Paradise!
