I recently relocated from Washington state to Arizona. I am 81 years old and have spent several months each year in Costa Rica since 2009 when my husband and I first invested in a condo in Matapalo and later bought this house in its unfinished state. We re-designed the interior, in 2018 added the garage with the upstairs cabina.
Why they chose this property
The property is located in the small gated community called Montana de Estates, (Mountain Estates). We are literally "in the woods". The house and cabina back up to a large farm used to house the owners horses and sometimes water buffalo. Monkeys come through almost every day except during the dryest season. They stay in the tree canopy traveling miles eating the fruits from the various trees. There are an abundance of birds. I have logged 73 different species at this property on Merlin Birds. The neighborhood is great. Luis, the community gardener is filled with information about the area.
What makes this property unique
Quiet, Privacy and seclusion, yet close to all amenities enjoyed in the surrounding communities of Playa Grande, Matapalo, Huacas, Flamingo, Potrero, and Tamarindo. The touristy areas are available, but it's great to come back to the quiet of our home.
