Thanks so much for staying with us! And we so appreciate the feedback on the fridge. We are trying to balance keeping most of the historic charm with modern conveniences and found that in order to preserve the original, brick kitchen hearth we had to go with a mid-size refrigerator (~10 cubic feet). Switching the hinge direction makes total sense so thanks for that suggestion!

We had a fantastic stay at this rental in Gettysburg! The house was charming and spacious, easily accommodating our group of six. The living space had seating for everyone to relax, and the whole place was spotless. We loved being able to walk to dinner and explore the town. Highly recommend!

Lots of room and close to everything

We really enjoyed the house and will definitely come back when we visit Gettysburg again. The owner, Amy, had just closed on the property one day prior to our arrival. She was extremely helpful and responsive prior to, and during our stay. The upstairs did not have air conditioning under the previous owners but Amy installed 2 portable units (expect permanent mini-split units installed in the near future) upstairs prior to our arrival which we were very thankful for. Can't say enough about her or the house, which we loved. If you're looking for a place to stay while you explore Gettysburg, this place is perfect.

Overall the place was excellent, other than it should have been noted in initial add that two bedrooms upstairs were not air conditioned and that it isn't a toddler friendly setting . In addition our reservation was cancelled last minute as property was sold and we al.ost didn't have a place to stay for a graduation and family reunion with oast Guard granddaughter returning o erseas. Much stress oc urred until new owner decided she would do best to accomodate us. Central location was ideal.

Sylvia - We are so glad you were willing to be patient and flexible with us as we navigated the transition in ownership of the property! We would love to have you back...after central air conditioning upstairs is installed next week of course! :) While the lack of AC upstairs was definitely not ideal, (and news to us upon purchasing), it was important to us to be transparent and share this information with the previous owner's existing reservations as soon as we found out. Our hope was to both reassure our future guests that we are honoring their reservations after the sale and explain what we were doing to help with the lack of AC upstairs in the interim (installing portable AC units and fans). Timing of closing, existing reservations that we wanted to honor (that did not allow enough gaps in time for a central unit to be installed), and the untimely release of information to us made a few "bumps " in the rebooking unavoidable and for that we are SO sorry! We hope that you feel that we did whatever we could to make it possible for your family to still have a great stay in Gettysburg!
