Laura's log cabin, tucked in the beautiful old Florida oaks dripping with Spanish moss, was a pleasant surprise. An older home, it has so much character and charm! It was a very relaxing stay and quite convenient to local restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. Coffee in the mornings just off the kitchen was especially nice with a view of the trees and pond out back. We were visited twice in our short 4-day stay by wild turkey. The home sits back off the road on a quiet dead-end street, so traffic noise was a minimum. The lot is long and narrow, and there are homes on each side. However, we never saw or heard anyone in either home, so we felt as if we were quite secluded. The piano was a wonderful treat, and our daughter loved playing it each evening. My only "wish" (because we have no complaints!) would be to have had cleaner windows. I realize that seems like a petty item, but they were quite dirty and it just made everything seem a little "tired." Also, the owners have a LOT of their personal items in the home, so I sometimes felt like I was intruding. Maybe fewer small knick knacks might be better?? Lastly, the "1 mile walk to the beach" includes the need to cross a major highway (FL A1A) and the traffic was quite heavy through the intersection. If we had been traveling with small children, this would have been a concern.
All in all, Laura was an excellent host, easily reached by email and/or text for any questions. If you are looking for a quaint spot near Mickler's Beach in Ponte Vedra, then I'd happily recommend you check this place out.
