This was an incredible vacation home - the view of Signal Hill and St John's harbor are absolutely amazing. One oof the best vacations our family has ever had.
I wish I could rate it higher than the maximum. It was so clean, comfortable and relaxing. A very big property with beautiful surroundings. I'd definitely stay here again.
Very easy house to live in. This was our 2nd year in a row. Fantastic view of signal hill, cabot tower, the atlantic ocean, St Johns itself, and all the while watching the boats and activities in the harbour. Terrific stay. Highly recommend.
There truly is nothing like this property. The views, the location, the quaint but perfectly decorated home were all superb. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating and very easy to communicate with.We enjoyed every minute!
Incredible views. Very relaxing. So interesting watching boats in the harbour. Saw some bunnies hopping around. You can see the sunrise and the sunset.
The stay was generally lovely . Our only rough spot was communication . We called and emailed the host with a question and got no response . Otherwise , excellent conditions and no complaints .
Unbelievable view. Checked all our boxes. Lighthouse, comfortable beds, stunning views, fog horn, and so much more!Clean with everything you need. Close to downtown. If you are going to St. John’s, Fort Amherst is the place to stay for the Newfoundland Experience!!! We will definitely be back! The hosts are so attentive and there for whatever you need. Thank you sooooo much!!!
From sunrise to sunset views and in between, this property will always be at the top of unique and amazing experiences—one that we could never get at a hotel.

charming
beautiful views and a great location to see the harbor activity. We loved staying here.
I would give the location more than five stars if that were possible. Staying at such as iconic St. John's location was a VRBO experience like no other.
The check in was easy, the kitchen facilities' were very well stocked with all we needed. The wifi worked great. The views of the harbor and signal hill from the front deck was amazing! Overall it was wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
The owner, Peter Gill, is the grandson of Leo Power, one of the longest serving light keepers at the Fort Amherst lighthouse. Peter operates Fort Amherst Vacation Homes along with his wife Nicole.
