Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed at this home for 6 weeks. It’s in a great locations, within easy walking distance to Sumter Square. The home is very well furnished with nice furniture and comfortable beds. There is also a nice screeded porch and private back patio. The Gas golf cart was also great. Down Home Proderties was quick to address a minor plumbing issue. My only complaint is there are only 2 TV’s, one in the family room and one in the Master. Those TVs are nice but, only very basic cable was available (meaning no ESPN, Cable News, or movie channels, etc.J. Internet service was fast and reliable. Overall it was a great experience. Thank you!

More lighting in the master bedroom, and the adjustable bed was not working.We were waiting for the exterminator to show up, we were told he would be at the house in 30 minutes. We left an hour later and he did not show. The next morning however, he shows up unannounced. He was polite, and only did the outside. He just let us know that he was outside. The new cookware is a nice improvement.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our December stay at 1194 Flamingo was great. The home is beautiful and in a great location close to Lake Sumter Landing Market Square easily in walking distance. Upon our arrival there was considerable debris and litter on the floor next to the refrigerator as well as under the front of the sofa and loveseat. The Master BR furniture was dusty, walk in shower had hair on the walls - however these issues were NOT the fault of the cleaning staff of Downhome Property Management. Upon reporting our findings to the office they sent out 2 girls who did an excellent job of cleaning and told us that they had not been sent to clean prior to our arrival because the owners were there and upon their departure they reported that they had cleaned the home themselves. The Downhome Property Management staff was great -friendly, professional and welcoming - answered any questions we had. We ate at several of the restaurants, took in the nightly live entertainment and took some day trips to area attractions. We would stay in this property again, but would suggest that the owners offer renters the option of paying for a cable upgrade (more channels) for the month. Too many channels were unavailable. All in all it was a great stay.

For the 2nd year in a row, we had issues involving "checking into" our unit. We were told there"d be 2 garage door openers, a golf cart key, and 2 door keys on the kitchen table awaiting us upon arrival. In fact, the only thing when we arrived was a door key. We called Down Home & were told we'd have to pick these items up at their office. We were tired from a 13 hour drive & in no mood to go on a wild goose chase looking for their office, & insisted they bring the keys, openers, etc. to us, which they did the next day. Quality of the furniture was just "OK," and the landscaping was full of weeds & needed attention. We were told that next time, we would have to drive to their office to pick up the keys, etc., rather than them being at the unit upon our arrival. If that is the case, there won't be a "next time." We'll just take our business elsewhere.

We are close to friends staying in the hotel at Sumpter Landing and all other shopping there. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We have a 10mo old and a 3yr old at the time of our stay. Having a house was FAR better that a one-room hotel room. Since we had an address well in advance, we were able to have rental baby furniture delivered with ease. The garage was great for keeping everyone out of the sun and rain. The kitchen is large and again, perfect for having small children. I will be coming back to this property in the future.

The home itself was very well decorated and had all of the luxuries of home. The location was in the heart of Lake Sumter where shops and restaurants were a short golf cart ride away. We enjoyed the free entertainment each night on the square and spent our days either at the pool or one of the many golf courses.

They even brought us a brand new coffee pot when we called about waiting 35 minutes for a pot of coffee. Umbrella table in picture fell apart from rot and rust when we tried to open it. General appearance of property was a bit rough, landscaping was not up to par with the permanent residents of the neighborhood. Would have liked an information binder in unit. Things to do, map, restaurant info, etc. We have stayed at other rental properties over the last 5 years and there are much better options available.
