4 Stars and no negatives!

My wife and I loved everything about Mima's Village. The on-site host, Memo, started communicating well before we arrived, and he went above and beyond to make sure our trip was awesome. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with plenty of room and a nice kitchen, look no further. It is just up the road from Chancanaab Marine Park, and it's a short walk to several beach bars & restaurants, swimming and snorkeling is great, too. The view from the room looks out over the ocean, with spectacular sunsets.

It was such a great honor and pleasure to host Chris & Sandra … they stayed here only a few days but everything was super and great with them… They made with their stay, a lovely, easy going, great fun and pleasant visit to Mima´s… They are simply the BEST GUESTS I have had in a very long time (or maybe, of all the time) …If there´s a template for a perfect guest, they are that… The type of people that you know will treat someone else's home like it's their own... They definitely did, they left it spotless... No enough words to describe their gratitude, generosity and thoughtfulness was unbounded beyond words… I wish having more guests, or even better, all my guests, being like Chris & Sandra... Thank you very much for everything Chris & Sandra… This is your Casa anytime you want...

Snorkel vaca

Comfortable beds, lots of windows, nice AC in the backhalf of house. Memo is very helpful. We also rented his car to get around. Snorkeling was good in this area but lots of boat traffic. No condiments are included in your rental, so bring any spices you might need or spend for spices you'll likely use little of. I also wish I'd brought ocean shoes to get in and out of the water safely. The rental included access to a nice pool as well.

The property was within biking distance to town about 20 minuets and the bikes were provided and were in reasonable condition. Last years hurricanes have taken away most of the beach but there is a bit of sand there to start your swim or snorkel and there is lots of gear at the resort. Snorkeling was very good right at the resort as soon as you enter the water with most days being quite calm. The one way road is very quiet so excellent for biking or walking and goes right to the south end of the island. The rooms themselves were great very roomy clean and excellent internet. Lots of places close by to dine out if you prefer that. If you have a car the south east side of the island exceptional with miles of sandy beaches. Would come back here anytime. The grocery stores have everything and the food is reasonably priced.

Home away from Home!

First stay for us. We really wanted the at home feeling. We got that here. Loved the snorkeling, walking, friendliness, ocean view, the pool and the helpfulness of Paul the manager. We were thankful for all the extras they supply. (Towels, water, laundry, etc.) The unit itself was nice, needs a little updating and maybe some additional kitchen supplies. (Crockpot), (bowls). But overall, comfortable and homey. Short walk to the Money Bar restaurant. Good food, more Americanized though. We Love Cozumel, and really enjoyed Mima's., felt like family. We will be staying there again. Thank you for everything!

Old furnishings leave a lot to be desired

First the positives: the location is 10 feet from the beach, which offers excellent snorkeling opportunities (make sure you have fins - the current is swift). The onsite host, Paul, is very friendly and helpful in giving directions, fresh towels, providing snorkel gear and suggestions on where to snorkel. Rental car is necessary for this location. Be aware it will cost you 120 pesos to get anywhere if you don't rent a car. Unfortunately the accommodations themselves are just not good. The bedrooms are dark and musty: the windows open onto a side wall and there is no fresh air to be had in the back of the apartment. The pillow I had reeked of stale sweat and I had to cover it in a towel to lay my head on it because the smell was so strong. The bedding is totally uncomfortable. The bathrooms are tiny and outdated - and we could only use the front bathroom as the other one had no window and smelled terribly. The kitchen is only superficially cleaned, so don't look too closely. The cutlery drawer was quite dirty and we had to wash everything before we used it (some of the forks looked like they were put back dirty in the drawer). Overall I was disappointed with this property and won't be staying there again.

Beautiful, Quaint and Reasonable

Paul is a kind, competent and helpful caretaker. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. It is not ultramodern or a mega condo party place. It has only a few apartments with friendly people.
