Our hosting journey began with a simple family dream: to create a soft landing place where people could step away from the noise of everyday life, slow down, and truly reconnect with the people who matter most. As a family, the mountains have always been our ultimate sanctuary—a place of renewal, fresh pine air, and unforgettable memories around the fire. When we found this cabin in Long Barn, we knew we wanted to breathe new life into it and share that magic with other families.

That is how Wilder Phoenix Retreats was born. For us, hosting isn’t just about providing a place to sleep; it’s about crafting an intentional, "cozy-luxe" experience where you feel entirely taken care of from the moment you step through the door. We completely remodeled Serenity Pines with comfort and connection in mind—from the ultra-plush King beds and fast Starlink Wi-Fi to keeping the property strictly pet-free so guests with severe allergies can breathe easy and feel safe.

What we love most about being hosts is knowing that our home becomes the backdrop to your family's favorite memories. We love hearing about the early morning coffee shared on the deck, the laughter after a long summer afternoon spent at Pinecrest Lake, or the cozy evenings spent gathered around our indoor wood-burning stove sharing stories.

We care deeply about the details because we know how precious vacation time is. When you stay with us, you aren't just renting a house—you are stepping into a peaceful mountain sanctuary built by a family who genuinely cares about your stay. We can't wait to welcome you to the pines!

When we were searching for the perfect location for Serenity Pines, we fell completely in love with Long Barn. This neighborhood holds a special, timeless magic that is becoming harder and harder to find. It offers the ultimate "best of both worlds" for a mountain getaway.

First and foremost, it feels like a true, hidden escape. Tucked away under a canopy of massive, mature pines, the neighborhood provides a deep sense of peace, quiet, and privacy that instantly forces you to slow down and breathe a little easier. There are no bright city lights or loud highway noises here—just the wind through the trees and the crackle of the fireplace.

At the same time, we chose this exact spot because its location along the Highway 108 corridor is completely unbeatable for year-round adventure. We wanted a central home base where our guests could easily choose their own adventure every single day without spending hours in the car:

In the Summer: We are just a few minutes' drive from the pristine shores of Pinecrest Lake, making it effortless to spend the morning kayaking or hiking and be back at the cabin for a deck BBQ by afternoon.

In the Winter: We sit perfectly positioned below the heavy snow lines for easier driving, yet we are just a short drive up the mountain to first tracks at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and family fun at Leland Snow Play.

Convenience: We love that while the cabin feels beautifully disconnected, local spots like Miwuk Market are right down the road for quick essentials, and historic Sonora is just an easy 20-minute drive away for full grocery runs and dining.
