better than hoped for
we were very pleased with this property. it delivered on everything that was advertised and then some. clean and well equipped. quiet and convenient. would definitely stay again.
The location was great. The house was modern and up to date. It was an old house; with a great makeover. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars because the hit water in the shower kept going in and out.; also there was a house roach in the bathroom I saw. It could have came from the hallway or upstairs ; but nevertheless it was there with an egg-sack. The porch light on unit A didn't work as well. Those were our only bad experiences ; other than that; it was a great stay. . .

Great if ….
The location of the property is great! Beach access right across the street and you canwalk to crabdaddys, crab trap, etc., or even the village if you’re okay with a longer walk. The house is also adorable, quaint (the decor was a little off, not beachy but that is nit picky). I took off two stars because we had no wifi the entire stay, we couldn’t watch a movie or put on a show or anything. When I messaged, they told me someone was coming out, I’m not sure that ever happened….but I do think how the no wifi situation was handled could have been better, especially given that wifi is an amenity that we did not have the entire stay. Lastly, you are basically sharing a house with the other side. All that is separating you is door that seems to be painted shut and I’m sure is locked. We could hear them, and I am sure they could hear us. The upstairs is very creaky, we could hear every step. If you don’t mind potentially not having wifi and being able to hear the guests staying on the other side, then book it!
Very clean! Close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Perfect for a weekend getaway! Wes and Edis were quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. Greatly enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed our stay! Edis was great to us and we loved the property!

Beautiful, comfortable, but noisy
We came to St. Simon's Island for a week in November. The apartment we rented in the Stanton House was beautifully decorated. The bed was comfortable. The linens and towels were top quality. The kitchen was well-equipped. The house was in a great location - it was very close to the beach, a couple of restaurants, and a short walk to the downtown area. The landlord was also responsive.
We give the property three stars for a couple of reasons. First, there was no dresser in the bedroom to put clothes away. There were also only four hangers in the closet area. Maybe most people only stay for a few days, and that is sufficient. However, we stayed for a week. We wound up using the very narrow built-in shelving in the bathroom for our clothes.
The second reason we give the property three stars is because of the noise. It is a very old house and we could hear the neighbors upstairs walking around, talking, etc. The heating and air conditioning unit was extremely loud. It was cold while we were there. It may not be as loud when it is cooling the space. However, when it was heating the apartment, it rattled the side of the house and made it difficult for us to sleep at night. Wes did refund the cost of one night after we expressed our concern about the noise.
One last thing to note- the description of the apartment says it sleeps 3. Maybe it means that there is enough space to accommodate two adults and a young child, but it would be difficult to fit a third adult in the place.
If you are not bothered by loud noises, this is a great place to stay.
