Perfect Key West vacation spot!

This was the perfect place for my family and I to stay for our Key West vacation. The condo itself had everything we needed, access to the pool was great and is in a prime location to walk to so many bars, restaurants, shops and a beach.

Front overlooks parking lot, but back porch is nicely landscaped. Kitchen well stocked with most things, but no coffee mugs or plastic glasses for pool - we contributed one of each!

Reviewer Comments: Angker’s Retreat in the Shipyard Condominium section of Key West’s Truman Annex neighborhood is an ideal base for exploring all the best the Conch Republic has to offer. Only a block to the community pool. Only a few blocks to Duval Street, Old Town, Mallory Square, and the harbor. The unit is comfortable and functional with a compact kitchen and a small bathroom, plus a queen size bed in one bedroom and two twins in the other.A nice front porch and a large, shaded back deck in a prime corner location. A few modernizing touches would make it even more enjoyable, but it’s already pretty special just the way it is.

Although everyone was home and probably getting ready for bed we called the help line phone number and left a message. Within minutes Stacy called me back and got me straighten out on the key/ code issue. Thank you Stacy for all your assistance we really appreciate your time. After that we had a great time no issues at all.

In KW it's all about location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was perfect to get everywhere easily. Love Truman Annex. Easy walks to Duvall or Fort Zachery Taylor beach. The back sitting area provided shade and room for everyone, and morning coffee sitting in the sun on the front porch was a great start to the day. Management was very helpful. Only wish was a grill for our fresh fish catch.

We plan on staying at the shipyard again next year, but I do not think I would stay at this rental. If did not seem well maintained and like it hasn’t been used in awhile. There were problems with outlets, loose and broken tiles and the landscaping needs tended to. If this apartment was updated we would for sure stay there again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time in this property but over 20 years of staying in the Shipyard. Was told the interior was older but well maintained. Space was nice but not as comfortable as we expected. Bathroom needs a lot of attention. - from the mold in the tub/shower to the loose faucet and plugged drain. AC was adequate although thermostat wasn’t accurate.We didn’t cook, so the small kitchen area and only counter seating didn’t bother us.If you want a downstairs unit and convenient location and parking, thus unit was the right choice. We are more comfortable with a cleaner and more updated unit.

Chipped formica counters, dated furniture, poor lighting, an original tub circa 1970's, tile so poorly cut and grouted it is shameful. Smelled like smoke. This whole unit needs to be nuked. The location is fine, close "enough" to the pool and parking lot is viewed from the unit.

When we checked into the unit we found ants all over the kitchen which required a trip to the store for bug spray.2. The back door to the deck was falling off its hinges which required maintenance to pay a visit and repair it.3. There are cracked/loose tiles leading into the back bedroom4. The A/C unit, after it runs a few minutes had a terrible knock the required you to shut it down.5. The bathtub is extremely slippery to the point that it is a slip/fall hazard, especially for senior citizens.6. The need to add a couple of small sauce pans to the inventory.We will be selecting a different unit for our next trip.

Locatin is great and it had 2 bedrooms

The location was very convenient and the listing was correct about having 2 bedrooms so it gets 2 stars for that. While we there the air-conditioner kept us up one night while it was whining as the pump they had on it whined every time it turned on. Turns out that pump was must have been there because of some water issues at some point as 4 ceramic tiles literally popped off the floor one day and cracked. The management company did nothing about it. We laid a bathroom rug over it so it wouldn't cut our feet. The TV and internet never worked the entire week. The management co did nothing about that either. There was not enough toilet paper, no cleaner or enough caulk around the tub. Did you ever rent an apartment from a landlord that just didn't care that much in a good location? Imagine they had q VRBO and you found this place.

Family Vacation

This condo was in the perfect location. Walking distance to everything. Gated community a plus and very quite. The only negatives are the porch should be washed off before arrival, you end up tracking black prints inside the condo. Need to replace the coffee pot with a K-cup and need to list under amenities that you have a washer/dryer. If I had known that I wouldn't of packed so much. Finally, the beds need replacing. They are old and it feels like you are sleeping in a hammock.

Great Vacation

This was our second time staying in Truman Annex but first to stay in the Shipyard area. We hope to be back. Loved the condo and area. Great location near pool.
