Quiet place just a few miles away from downtown that has been meticulously maintained. Quickly could access downtown, the highway, or the Blue Ridge parkway. Loved the wood stove which really provides some great ambiance.
A great place to be - would stay again! very close to town and all Asheville has to offer, but feels like you are a million miles from the world. Super relaxing, wonderful windows, did not want to leave for our day activities!
Such a beautiful place and location to stay at. It is very close to the city. It feels like you are remote place in the mountains. The garden was gorgeous. It was very peaceful and the host was wonderful. I would definitely book this again.
We so enjoyed our stay! The house is beautiful, the space is airy inside, spacious, with up-to-date amenities. Sitting on the deck enjoying the gardens with so many flowers was a joy. It was such a healing place!
Marion was very helpful with the process and allowed an early check in. Property was amazing, location was perfect and such a classy place to stay near the city but in the serene mountainside.
This house is great for two couples, the location is private, quiet, well maintained, and fully equiped. We go to Asheville every year for leaf peeping and we really enjoyed this spot with our friends. Thanks for the great kitchen supplies!
The cottage was perfect for us! It is at the top of the mountain so it snowed the first night we were there, which we loved. It is only about 2 - 2 1/2 miles to downtown Ashville and is close to everything. It looks like it has been recently refreshed and had everything we needed. We wish we had more time and could have stayed longer.
The house is very comfortable and well provisioned. It’s in a great location, and sits on a very quiet and lovely street away from the hustle and bustle. The owner has been highly responsive and answered all our questions, including addressing our questions about the measures being taken during Covid.
Our stay at this secluded garden cottage was wonderful. The property is a nature lover's paradise, with a furnished deck for enjoying a cup of coffee and enjoying the nature that the mountains have to offer. The home is beautifully furnished and felt very comfortable, while providing every convenience imaginable. It is truly a place that one can stay for a few days, as well as long term. We would definitely recommend Marion's home.
The Garden Cottage was hidden up a winding road on the mountain, in a perfect, secluded spot, but not too hard to find! The exterior garden is incredible, buzzing with bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. So romantic! The interior was beautifully understated and rustic, with a lovely upstairs master bath. Close enough to downtown, yet far enough away to enjoy much needed peace and quiet. Wonderful.
My husband and I joined my sister and her husband to celebrate significant birthdays. Marion’s house was perfect for us - charming and spotlessly clean. The house is thoughtfully provisioned with travel sized toiletries in case a guest forgot a toothbrush or toothpaste. She was happy to provide a few items my sister and I needed in the kitchen and asked us to compile a list of cooking items needed since more people are cooking in now. We look forward to returning!
The property was exactly as listed and we had a terrific stay! You can’t beat the location close to Asheville and although it was a little tough to navigate the roads in the dark when we first checked in, we learned the twists and turns to get down the hill and this was a great place to stay. The inside is lovely and plenty of space and thoughtful accommodations. The host was super quick to respond and very accommodating to make sure we had a great trip. Would highly recommend
We had a very nice stay at the cottage! It was clean and well-stocked with everything we need. The property is beautiful and the home is so cozy with the wood burning stove. We saw a mama bear and 2 cubs two evenings in a row nearby on the way to dinner!
Downtown Ashville is 10 minutes away and you are living in a real mountain neighborhood. Marion's property is unassuming, comfortable, and leaves nothing to be desired. It's a charming little house nestled in a mountain neighborhood that gives you a taste of the kind of lifestryle you could have in Ashville. The only disappointment was we didn't see any bears. We did some accidental damage to one of marion's tables and didn't realize it before we left. She was extremely gracious when telling us about it. You don't get bells and whistles here but who needs it in Ashville.
We rented this cottage along with my sister in law and husband for 3 nights following our daughter’s wedding and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location. Very convenient to downtown Asheville, beautifully furnished and very well stocked with everything we needed. The road down to the cottage is a little steep but perfectly navigable. We loved the peace and quiet and enjoyed the garden at breakfast as well as the wood stove in the evenings. The owner was super helpful and swift to answer a couple of questions. Highly recommend!
We loved this property. It was the perfect size for a small family and so beautiful inside and outside. The gardens were lovely. The house was well stocked. It is very convenient to downtown Asheville. Marion was wonderful and very responsive. Our GPS took us the wrong way and we were completely lost. We called Marion and she stayed on the phone with us until we found the property! We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful cottage! We enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon. Marion was wonderful to work with and made our stay even more special with left fresh flowers and candies for us.
A Beautiful and Quiet Setting Yet Close to Everything
The inside was clean and beautifully decorated with every kitchen amenity we needed. The flowers and card that greeted us was a nice touch. The bedrooms and bathrooms were so similar that neither couple felt that they were being shortchanged. The bumpy, and steep gravel driveway was the only negative and we were glad we escaped driving home at night or in the rain, but it should not be a deterrent because we quickly learned to navigate the bumps. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Great location and so very quiet. Excellent communication with Marion and everything as advertised. We even had the pleasure of a few bears walking peacefully through the garden whilst we ate breakfast one morning. Highly recommended!
The property was very well maintained, equipped, and cleaned. We could not have had a better host. She was very thoughtful and a delight to work with. Communications were timely. It was a beautiful place to stay and if we travel in that area again, we hope to stay there again.
Excellent proximity to downtown! You feel away from the bustle of the city but a quick drive down the mountain and you’re in the mix of downtown. The VRBO had everything we needed for a spring break away with our teenagers. We made several meals in and had everything we needed plus some. The house easy very clean and maintained with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. We arrived at night and the house was well lit and very welcoming! The only minor issue is the floors in the upstairs bedroom, which is above the downstairs room, creaks when you walk around. But it wasn’t an issue for us as we aren’t early risers or up really late. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed this VRBO and would highly recommend it to others.
