About this property
Superb forest refuge, Niseko, Japan
An incredibly beautiful, uncrowded, and peaceful spot, away from the Hirafu hysteria. It's a 3 minute drive to Annupuri and a 5 minute drive to the Hilton Niseko. Hirafu is 10 - 15 minutes depending on the weather.
What makes it special It's close to everything, but separate. So you get beautiful, still peace. The panoramic view is sublime. The light is gorgeous. The finish is good quality. Furnishings are functional and good looking. And it's always warm when it needs to be. All these things combine to make Forest Hideaway unique.
Accommodation and amenities Forest Hideaway sleeps 6 in stylish, fully equipped comfort. There are two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet, washbasin). Bedroom 1 has a double bed. Bedroom 2 has two singles. These beds have traditional Japanese futon mattresses. And there are 2 futon mattresses in the 2nd floor living area which can be unrolled at night and rolled up in the morning. It has a kitchen, lounge, and dining area upstairs looking out over the birch forest through wide panoramic windows.
About the area Soga is an off-the-main-drag birch forest between Annupuri and Niseko Village. There are other houses around, but crowding is not an issue like it is in Hirafu. Yet it's close enough not to matter.
Getting around The Niseko area has some public transport, but it is not frequent and does not stop everywhere you might wish to travel. We can supply you with the details. For a much more convenient and practical experience we advise that you rent a car. There is so much more that you can do. There is parking in the driveway of Forest Hideaway and all the ski resorts have parking.
In addition to the cleaning fee, we charge a refundable recycling fee of 10,000. There is a lot of recycling to be done in Niseko. If you do your part, we refund you the money. If we have to do it, this amount goes towards our time spent doing it for you. This fee is payable in cash to your host on arrival.

The entire house is laid out very well, very clean and comfortable home. Beds are futon (which are usually hard) but these were comfy.
Located in the forest and only 10 min drive to the middle of Niseko Hirafu and 30 mins from Rusutsu Resort. A vehicle is necessary to get around from here. Great kitchen and laundry facilities. Only upgrade should be a bigger TV (way to small) and newer Apple TV connector (very outdated).

Hi Rhonda,
Thanks so much for your email. We are very happy that you had a good stay. And we look forward to welcoming you back.
I will replace the connector for the Apple TV. Sorry that it did not work. It’s the first time we had a problem with it. And we are looking into getting a projector for a massive screen experience.
Glad that everything else worked out though.
All the best and safe travels.
The Forest Hideaway Team
We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at the Forest Hideaway in Niseko! This ideal size chalet for the three of us really brought so much joy for our skiing trip. This was our first visit to the area and indeed there were plenty of accommodation options to choose from. However, we were so thrilled being away from the crowds of the resort areas. We usually stay in hotels, but the homely atmosphere really added solitude and calm to our holiday. We reveled in the opportunity to cook our own food and wash our clothes and spend time together as a family. Record snow levels created challenges with preparing the car, particularly in the morning. Yet this is something I enjoyed since I rent in the city and don’t get many opportunities to live like a local in the snow. Finally, the host has been outstanding with communication and advice throughout the booking process. He helped his gain knowledge in car rental options and equipment vendors. Clear, concise dialogue is what I appreciate the most - creating little to no surprises during the trip.Thank you for everything Greg for allowing us to be guests at your property. We will see you next time!
Forest Hideaway is well managed with great communication to the guests. The house is in great condition and is a nice retreat after a long day of skiing. A vehicle is needed to get around, and there is a parking stall next to the house. I'd highly recommend staying here, and will stay here again if in the area.

Was a perfect winter cabin , large windows upstairs to view the scenery , heated floors and available nearby host to help with any issues. Would recommend to anyone staying in Niseko

Hope to see you again.

A quiet location close to the Hilton Hotel and golf course, and close to Milk Kobo. A car is a must. The house has all the comforts of home and nothing is too difficult for the manager who lives a short distance away! A great stay for summer!

Apartment was like the pics or even better... there are plenty of towels to go around and the kitchen was fully equipped with dishwasher and utensils(coffee/tea making facilities). Bedroom and kitchen has floor heating which was perfect.
Was surprise to see snowmobile on days of heavy snow that clear up the road early morning.
Excellent owner and very helpful and friendly manager of the apartment which makes the stay even better.
Tobaggan was even provided by Manager Melissa when she saw my family with 3 kids
Thumbs up for excellent customer service
Will stay again no doubt.
