The casita is modern and has nice decor. It needs more curtains so it stops being too hot in the summer. The western-facing windows made it hot inside when it was 80 degrees. There's no curtains/blinds on the glass front door, high living room window, and kitchen window. So hot sun comes in and makes it too hot to be on the couch, in the kitchen, etc. These three windows need curtains/blinds.The casita is painted black, so it absorbs a lot of heat during the day and radiates it onto occupants at night. Every single night we slept very poorly because the AC was too loud on normal power but on “quiet” mode it couldn't fight the 80 degree day's residual heat coming through the walls. The casita needs to be a paler color so it doesn't absorb so much heat in the summer and make guests miserable from lack of sleep. There is a direct view from the 2nd story window of the adjacent house into the casita's kitchen and living room. The shade on the casita's main window is see-through at night. Privacy/shade trees would be good to plant between the house and the casita. (Deciduous lets winter sun in.)It's nice there's a locked gate for the property. Parking is out of sight on a different street. You must carry everything by walking along a 4 lane road with cars going 45 mph. There's no vegetative strip or parking strip to buffer you so it's stressful and loud. Hold tight onto your dog and little kids. Nearby streets don't have sidewalks, so not ideal walking.

Thank you for the detailed feedback, it really helps us improve the casita. We're sorry you didn't sleep well. We haven't had other reports of the AC struggling in quiet mode, but we'll look into it. It should have no problem in 80 degree weather. We'll explore curtains or blinds for the front door, living room, and kitchen windows, and keep looking at ways to address heat from the blue exterior. On parking, we know the walk isn't ideal, especially with a dog and kids. We plan to integrate landscaping with the house to make it more accessible, but that's not possible until construction wraps up. We'll update the listing with clearer guidance in the meantime. Thanks again for taking the time to write this up.

The small home itself was perfect for our needs. There is currently construction next door but because we were there for the weekend it wasn’t an issue. The place is on a main Street so at first it was intimidating until we got our bearings. There are actually great walks a few blocks away and the Diva Espresso cafe, so the location was great.
