Welcome to Cobbossee View Cottage!

The home features two bedrooms with queen beds and two full bathrooms, comfortably sleeping up to five guests. Both bedrooms face the lake, offering natural light and peaceful views to start your day.

The main living area includes a propane fireplace and comfortable seating for gathering in the evenings. Upstairs, a dedicated movie room provides additional space for entertainment, whether you are traveling with kids, friends, or just want a separate area to unwind. The room has a door for privacy, and the large sectional comfortably accommodates a fifth guest.

The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and full-size appliances, along with a Moccamaster coffee maker for slow mornings on the porch. Outside, the wraparound porch is ideal for coffee or sunset views, and the large backyard includes a private deck and fire pit for relaxed evenings outdoors.

While there is no direct lake access from the property, you will enjoy views of Cobbossee Lake and the quiet atmosphere of a true Maine lake setting. Public lake access is available in nearby Monmouth.

From the property, you are 15 minutes from Augusta and Winthrop, 20 minutes from Hallowell and Gardiner, 1 hour from Portland, 1 hour from Midcoast, 1 hour from Bangor, and 2.5 hours from Boston. A day trip to Acadia is just 2 hours away. It is a convenient home base for lake days, town visits, and coastal day trips alike.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave used towels on the bathroom floor or toss them in the washer and start a quick cycle. No need to strip the beds.
Turn off the propane fireplace if it was in use. Make sure the fire pit is fully extinguished if you used it the night before. Log out of any personal accounts on the Smart TV.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Violation of any house rules will result in immediate termination of your stay without refund and a $1,000 fine.

We are a Maine family who fell in love with the Cobbossee Lake area and wanted to create a place where others could experience it too. We visit often with our own family and have put a lot of thought into making the cottage feel like a true home away from home. We manage the property remotely but have a wonderful local team on the ground to make sure everything runs smoothly. We care a lot about the details and want every guest to feel like the cottage was set up just for them.

Why they chose this property

Cobbossee Lake is one of Maine's hidden gems. The area is quiet and unhurried, with that classic Maine lake town feel, but it is close enough to Augusta and Hallowell that you are never far from great food, local shops, and things to do. We chose this spot for the views, the pace, and the sense that you are genuinely getting away from it all without sacrificing convenience.

What makes this property unique

The west-facing position of the cottage means you get some of the best sunset views on the lake, right from the living room and the yard. Beyond the setting, we have put a lot of thought into the details: a propane fireplace for cool evenings, a dedicated movie room upstairs, and a space that is comfortable whether you are coming for a long weekend or a full week.
