About this property

Cozy and bright 2-bedroom cabin in charming Elka Park

A peaceful house within a 7 minute drive from the Hunter Mountain Ski area, and close to the following trailheads: Devil's path, Plattekill Falls, Huckleberry Point, Jimmy Dolan Notch, Pecoy Notch, Sugarloaf, Plateau, Twin, and Indian Head mountains.

The house has a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a fireplace, washer/dryer, Apple TV with free streaming channels, and two decks. The outdoor dining during the warm part of the year is not to be missed.
The master bedroom has great mountain views, and kids would enjoy the pass-through bunk bed room.

The house has one AC unit in the master bedroom, with two portable fans to use in the rest of the house. Due to the elevation, the house cools down at night during the warm season.
The bunk bedroom is a pass through room and has doors for privacy.
The patios have outdoor lounge and dining furniture, and a propane grill to enjoy during the warm season.
Starter wood is provided for the fireplace.
Fully stocked kitchen with a microwave, stove, air fryer, toaster, kettle, a coffee maker, and an assortment of tea, coffee and spices.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

The property has a rugged but short hike to Schoharie Creek accessible during the hiking season. The trail entrance is in the back of the property between the two side-growing apple trees, marked with splashes of blue, yellow and red paint on tree trunks. The trail brings you to a stone armchair on the creek’s edge. The guests are welcome to explore it, but should hike at their own risk.

We honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect winter getaway! Check-in was very easy, and the house was spotless when we arrived. Coming in to find the Christmas lights on alongside a thick blanket of snow made the whole experience feel so cozy and welcoming. It was easily the best-stocked rental we have ever stayed at. Anna provided everything we could possibly need, from shampoos and conditioners to a great selection of tea and coffee, and even an air fryer. There were plenty of board games, puzzles, books, including several for the kids. The house is very quiet and private with lots of natural light. We loved exploring the trail that lead down to the creek, and the kids had a lot of fun building snowmen and playing in the snow. At night, we just sat by the fireplace with hot cocoa and played games together. Even though it felt like we were in our own private forest, it was an easy 5-minute drive to the grocery store and the super cute center of Tannersville. We would love to come back and see the area again during the summer months!

Living room and master bedroom have big windows to allow natural light, but also have blackout shades for privacy.
There is a steep but short walk to a creek in the back of the property, with the trail marked with blue, yellow and red paint.
