About this property

Parquet + Hex / Amazing Location / Great View!

Savor a stylish space with a view of Chico's Bidwell Park. Large windows and artistic design choices make this home a gem, and when you want to be in the park, simply walk across the street! You can enjoy the beautiful creek, lush greenery, walking paths, and shaded picnic areas.

The main living space is open concept with wood parquet floors. Two bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms are in the home, with a third detached bedroom in the backyard.

Two gravel parking spaces and keypad entry are provided for easy check-in to the home. This home is situated on a property that also offers a larger VRBO as well. You may see guests of the other home when you are on the front deck, but each home has its own parking and no shared walls. Please let us know if you want to reserve both homes!

You'll be the only guests with access to the private backyard.

Also get in touch if you're interested in a private painting session! My art studio is adjacent to this home, and while I do not use the space when guests are here, we can connect and schedule some art time if that's something you would enjoy.

Serene cottage

My son and I were visiting Chico, and this was an ideal location to stay. Very close to downtown and campus, but felt tucked away and serene, being just across from the park. The space was well appointed and clean, with very comfortable beds. It was peaceful and quiet, and lovely all around.

Beautiful!!! Everything you need and more!!!

Had an amazing stay! A deer came and ate the plants under the living room window every evening!!! This beautiful house is clean and comfortable! It is just across the street from Bidwell Park's walking path!! Plenty of easy parking right out front of the house made for easy loading and unloading! I will definitely book this property again!!!

I am an artist who grew up in Chico, taught art for 12 years, and now enjoy hosting painting parties and setting up homes to be lovely for guests like you! I've made most of the art you see throughout our VRBO properties and I sometimes even get to lead a paint and sip session for guests who want to add that on to their experience in Chico.

I also love to travel with my husband Daniel and our son. We have stayed in so many wonderful homes over the years and the energy and details included by different hosts is always such an inspiration! It's fun that no matter where we go, I always come back with fresh ideas to keep improving this space for our future guests.

Why they chose this property

As a Chico girl, Bidwell Park has been a part of my upbringing. Chicoans just call it "The Park" because it's so big and we all know how wonderful it is. Living on Vallombrosa, which runs along The Park, for two years, meant going for a run or meeting a friend for a walk was just bathed in this extra layer of magic because of how easy it was to pop over to The Park and be immersed in nature! My son's upbringing has had all of this whimsy too: he loves swimming in the creek, we got to ride our bikes to his summer nature camp, and family outings were as simple as throwing together a picnic and walking across the street.

What makes this property unique

This home is a charming haven that we lived in and remodeled for two years to add character and make the most of this incredible location. My husband restored the parquet flooring, I chose the matte black hex tiles and other hexagon elements in subtle spots. You'll also enjoy my paintings throughout, live plants all around, and thoughtful touches to nod to my Chico roots and love of nature. Life alongside Bidwell Park is a treat to experience, however long you can carve out to be here!
