The house is amazing with a beautiful view and plenty of space for a big group. The house was clean but we found cobwebs in multiple places in the house. Still, we had a great time and will definitely be back!
The house was amazing. Great location with beautiful views. The host provided all the info we needed prior to check-in and responded immediately to my questions. The house has all the stuff a large or small group needs for a short or long stay. Very nice kitchen and bathrooms. I highly recommend this house.
The home and area was amazing. Our family had such a great time this past week. One note (which I may have missed in the listing’s description,) to access the house you have to climb about three stories of steps from the driveway to the front door. The beds were comfy, the living spaces large and with good seating, and the dining table was large enough to seat 8 easily. The downstairs living space was really nice and we could see how kids would enjoy staying in that room with the bunks. The linens and towels provided were good quality. We did cook most of our meals at home and utilized many of the kitchen items. If you are traveling with a larger group, you may need to bring some additional baking sheets and larger pots as the kitchen has just one of each. The ice maker did not work but they provided an ice cube tray and a Brita pitcher, but we ended up just buying bags of ice. The middle level shower is very small and we ended up not using it after the first day’s shower but the other two levels have very nice showers and bathtubs. They have a few tvs in the home with lots of programming choices and apps. We were able to hook up our gaming system easily to the main level’s tv for our teens to use. Lastly the outdoor space and the view from the deck is just lovely. We spent a lot of time just sitting outside enjoying the fresh air and quiet while overlooking the mountains. We would certainly consider staying here again.
Great place for JMU Family Weekend. Enjoyed the deck and grill for a family meal with stellar views. No small children in our group, but any kids would love the built in bunk beds!
This was a very relaxing place to stay for our family celebrating an early Christmas. There was plenty of space for everyone. The views were fantastic, and it was very convenient for some last minute shopping.
We came to relax, enjoy the views, sit by a fire, and celebrate our friendship. Our host kept in touch and responded to all our questions quickly. We got all we came for and really enjoyed our stay!
We were a group of 4 authors staying here for a weekend writing retreat. The space was exactly what we needed! The house was clean, stocked with appropriate basics, quiet, and had plenty of space for the four of us. The views were also beautiful!
We really enjoyed our stay! The place is very spacious with lot of amenities! Very cozy and a great view. Would have liked to give it a perfect score but the property needs a little TLC and there should have been a mention about the amount of stairs that has to conquered to reach the entrance to the home.
Great house for 3 families. 6 adults and 4 kids. 2 minute drive to parking for slopes

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in
Seemed like this was going to be a great place to stay, unfortunately my family never got the opportunity. I was notified the day of check-in (to be exact 5 hours prior to check-in) that the home was unaccessible due to a storm that occurred the previous weekend. I can understand having to cancel the reservation but this was a situation that should have been identified and resolved sooner than day of check-in. I also want to point out that VRBO provided zero accommodation to me as the customer but did line their pockets by issuing the host a fine for the day of cancellation.
Spring Break trip with teenagers and preteens to the waterpark. The cabin had gorgeous views, and everyone had their own space. The cabin was well stocked, more so than other short-term rentals. We loved our stay!
We had a great weekend with no issues. The house is very close to the slopes and provides a lot of space for the price.

That view !!
The view is worth the stairs up the property. The owner had thought of everything - amenities, linens, toiletries. We loved staying at the lucky bear - charming, cute and a gorgeous view!
The Lucky Bear is a well-stocked cabin in a great location. The family space and sleeping arrangements were great and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms and carpet could use a deep cleaning or replacement. All linens, except wash cloths were provided.
Great location and tastefully furnished. Lots of beds for a family of 7. 10 people can stay easily. Pantry was stocked with lot of dishes. Did a night of Camp fire and a day of grilling with view of mountain from the patio. I would definitely stay again and thanks for being a super host

Why they chose this property
We purchased this home because it reminded us of the family cabins that we grew up with in California. Our kids love the outdoors and Massanutten provides the perfect base camp for exploring the George Washington and Shenandoah National Forests.
What makes this property unique
We have remodeled our cabin to meet the needs of two families. The large dinning room table comfortably seats 10 and the bunkhouse provides a great place for the kids to hangout while the adults visit upstairs in front of the gas fireplace.
