Experience True Door County Charm!

Experience true Door County charm in this recently renovated, inviting home owned by one of Ephraim’s founding families. The Thorp family history dates back to the 1850s with the founding of the Village by Reverend Iverson. Family owned for over 60 years, BD, the owner, grew up in this lovingly cared for home. The immaculate interior has a master bedroom with king bed, nautical themed bedroom with queen bed, and country-cottage ambiance in the third bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom boasts a new large walk-in shower with safety rail. Newly updated kitchen comes fully equipped and the home also has a laundry room with washer and dryer. Central air will make your stay more comfortable on those hottest summer days. Large landscaped yard with mature trees, picnic table, Adirondack chairs and hammock.

*Turnover is Sunday during the peak season*

** No Camper or Boat parking at any time. Contact the local township for information on public overnight parking **

This is our second year staying at this house and was just as wonderful as last time. We played outside in the huge yard everyday and I snuck in a nap in the hammock. Beautiful property inside and out. Very clean. Quiet, enjoyed seeing deer each day. Only regret is we couldn’t stay longer. The cherry pie was a very nice, welcoming touch. I hope we can return some day.

We enjoyed our stay at your house so much. The beds are comfortable, the family room spacious. The house and yard are beautiful. I loved reading on the hammock. It was an easy walk to Main Street, using the stairs off Dane St. the neighborhood was so quiet, a peaceful respite after a busy day by the bay.

Nice house, GREAT location, beautiful yard

Very nice property. The house was comfortable and the VRBO description is accurate. Off the beaten path but very close to shops , food and fun! Beautiful yard, roads have little traffic and are easy to walk. Property is spacious and comfortable; plenty of shade and Adirondack chairs. Neighbors are friendly.

Comfortable and private

This home is exceptionally clean, comfortable and surrounded by a beautiful forest. We enjoyed a visit from a couple of deers on our first day. It’s located very close to Ephraim main town and provides easy access to everything that Door County offers. This was our second stay in the Thorp home and would certainly book it in the future.

Lovely Home!

The BD Thorp House was perfect for our week in Door County. The house is immaculate and was well stocked with everything you would need. The location is in a quiet neighborhood just a short drive from downtown Ephraim. It was quiet, cozy and the perfect getaway for our family. The cherry pie was a "sweet" touch. We would definitely stay here again next time we come to Door County!

Little perfect house

I'm not even sure how many years we have been staying here in september. Perfect weather, perfect surroundings and the perfect house for 3 women. Thank you BD for being the perfect host. Will be back next year.

What a delightful stay! The home was clean, cozy and we loved the historic charm it exuded. We especially loved all the pictures/paintings of Ephraim/Door County - so beautiful. The kitchen was very well stocked and living area large with many games/movies available. We enjoyed the beautiful yard, relaxing in the Adirondack chairs and hammock - it was very quiet and close to the water.We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this lovely home and look forward to staying again soon. Thank you very much also for the yummy apple pie to welcome us - we sure felt like we were coming home. Thanks again!

Wonderful!

My sisters and I loved this place. It was clean it has everything you would need. Nice quality appliances, towels and sheets. I got to meet the owner, he was very nice, and he left us a cherry pie as a welcome gift! What a wonderful surprise when you walk in, and it was still warm. The layout was great, people can stay up in the living room while others sleep and you do not disturb them. Thank you for sharing the home with us, we had a great time!

Comfortable and perfect!

This house was absolutely perfect for us. It was a girls weekend and the 3 of us loved it. Everything was clean and comfortable. That is incredibly important to me because I have allergies to dust and pets. Other houses we’ve been to, allowed pets and didn’t clean well. And that ruined my weekend with the itchy eyes and throat. This place I had no issues. Everything was so clean and fresh smelling. We had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen is nicely stocked with everything you’ll need. There was a supply of all the products(tp, napkins, soap etc) and we added what we brought to it. The pie was such a sweet and caring touch that we all appreciated. The location is perfect. It’s in the middle to everything we wanted to see and visit. The only thing we did miss was a fire pit because we like to do one night outside to do s’mores :) but we barely missed it. Would definitely love to come here again. Thank you Bob and Jodie for letting us use your home.

Wonderful

Our stay here was perfect! The yard was great for our son to run around. Very close to downtown Ephraim. The owner came right away when the water heater went out and made sure to get it fixed in a timely manner. Definitely a great place to end our vacation!
