We take your safety seriously. We allow at least 48 hours between rentals for necessary sanitizing procedures and precautions to keep you (and our environment) safe. Our check-in and check-out process is contactless for your convenience and safety. The house is furnished with disinfectant cleaners for your use. For those who want to work remotely with magnificent views and comfort, we have radiant heat flooring, indoor 3-zone mini-split air conditioning, outdoor mountainair on two patios and throughout our 1-1/3 acre gated and fenced property, high-speed fiber optic internet and WiFi up to 200 mbps, cell service, and a cordless landline for free local and toll-free calls (or use a calling card or similar method for long distance calls).

Casa de Luz ('House of Light') is a private residence with views in a location in a quiet/private setting with 2 bedrooms, each with its own bath, in a 1400 square feet 1-level home situated on a completely fenced and gated 1.35 acre property (privacy fenced on three boundaries) with a private remote control operated gated drive and and separate latilla fenced backyard and patio and separate latilla fenced hot tub yard for guests seeking privacy. For your safety, Casa de Luz is secured by an outdoor camera system focused on the property's perimeter. Please be assured we respect your privacy as well as your safety.

Casa de Luz is nestled in a rural high-desert meadow a short distance from the Town of Taos & below Taos Ski Valley with panoramic views of Wheeler Peak (the tallest point in New Mexico), Taos Mountain & the Sangre de Cristo ('Blood of Christ') Mountains. You will enjoy a location away from the Town of Taos' traffic noise/congestion & night light pollution yet convenient to both the Town of Taos & Taos Ski Valley while staying in a home furnished with local artists' works & modern living comforts yet with the feel of Old Taos.

No parties, large groups, or loud music. Please enjoy the quiet surroundings while being respectful of our neighbors in our rural residential neighborhood.

LIVING AREA AND KITCHEN: Open living, dining & kitchen area has its own remote operated indoor air conditioning system and includes a queen sleeper sofa and a love seat, along with two rocker/gliders, a 55" Dish Network 4K Smart Bluetooth TV with DVR & DVD/BluRay player, wired through surround sound speakers in the Great Room and bedrooms, full surround sound stereo system with Bluetooth & portable connections & CD player. Each bathroom, one with a bathtub/shower & one with a shower, is furnished with a hairdryer, hand and bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand-carved cabinets, ceramic-tiled vanities, talavera sinks & brass fixtures.

Great place to stay! Perfect location. Easy access to town or the ski valley. Wonderful view. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Thoughtfully stocked with amenities. Beds were great. Towels were plushest we've ever seen. Can't wait to stay there again!

Our anniversary at Casa de Luz was everything we expected. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

Casa de Luz is a beautiful house, very quiet and private with the hot tub being a big plus. The location was perfect for the Rio Grande Gorge, Arroyo Seco, Taos Pueblos and Taos historic district. Great house near Taos!!!

We have stayed in many VRBOs and this on ranks near the top. It was easy to see that the owner has put a lot of thought into the decor, stocking and maintenance of the home. Everything was perfect. The location afforded scenic views and total privacy and quiet. If you are looking for the perfect Taos getaway spot, this is it!!

We stayed at Casa De Luz for 3 nights in Feb. while we enjoyed Taos Ski Valley. The house is well decorated and very comfortable--beds, showers, --even a hot tub. The owners had many nice little extra bonuses that we've not received other places. We were close to skiing, great restaurants and good shopping. We'd definitely stay there again when skiing Taos. It's also easy to find with GPS.

We loved Casa De Luz! Sharon was extremely hospitable and friendly. The property has a gorgeous view and a nice big fenced in backyard which my pups loved. It is a quick drive to town, but is still very secluded. I visit Taos often, but now will always check to see if Sharon's place is available first!

This property is in a quiet locale near the ski valley, Arroyo Seco and 15 minutes from Taos Plaza. The fenced yard was perfect for our dogs. The house has everything you need for an extended stay. You can eat in or restaurants are nearby. This was our second visit to Casa de Luz and we really enjoyed our stay. The owner and manager are very accommodating and we recommend this property to everyone.

Perfect Getaway

We came up for a few days during a holiday weekend. The owner of this property has thought of everything! A very comfortable house, and very relaxing after a long day of skiing. We also had our two dogs with us, and they loved the backyard and enjoyed bird watching. This absolutely felt like a home away from home. We will most definitely be back if we plan on heading to Taos again in the future.

Terrific Memorial Day Weekend Stay

What a fantastic property! We couldn't have asked for more. Everything from booking through departure was perfect. The home was in pristine condition when we arrived, and everything we needed, from pots and pans to towels to doggie waste bags was available and easily located. We loved being a bit outside of town and close to great dining in charming Arroyo Seco. Sharon obviously takes great pride in keeping up the home and being a great host. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Still Perfect!

We stayed here once before in 2012 and if it's possible we enjoyed it even more this time! So well maintained, and a perfect setup for a family of 4 (plus grandma). Our goal for the vacation was to ski hard and enjoy family time off the mountain, and Casa de Luz was perfect for this. If I could design my dream home I would just copy Casa de Luz. Can't wait to come back next year! I won't even bother looking at any other lodging options.

Beautiful home in perfect location!

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Casa De Luz. We loved being in a location between the ski valley, Seco, and Taos. It made visiting all of our favorite spots convenient and relatively quick. Regarding the home itself, the pictures do not do it justice. Everything is clean and beautifully appointed, and the outdoor space is truly special! Sharon went above and beyond to communicate with us before our trip to make sure we had everything we needed. We look forward to staying here during future trips to Taos!!

Perfect relaxation

We had a truly wonderful stay. To start, you can tell that the owner put a lot of care into the home & preparation of info for travelers. Personal touches leading up to the trip & upon arrival were uniquely thoughtful. The house has such a beautiful view, is well maintained & stocked of amenities. The fenced in yards are great for both dog & small children to play. It was fun to also watch all of the birds that visit the back yard. We enjoyed the hot tub too! Location was great for us to get out & explore but also have privacy. I'd definitely recommend this rental.

Peaceful Retreat

My Husband, dog and I returned recently from our week long stay at Casa De Luz. We have been coming to Taos for many years and enjoyed this beautiful, comfortable and well stocked home. We felt at home the moment we walked in after a long drive. Sharon had candles glowing and a beautiful bottle of wine waiting for us and some delicious dog biscuits for our boy, Joe! We enjoyed the privacy of the yard, spa and cozy rooms. Meals on the patio were also a treat. Casa De Luz is a lovely home and we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank You Sharon.

Family reunion in Taos

Casa De Luz is a beautiful home located in a great location of El Prado/Taos. It was a great place for a family reunion. The house was very clean and provided all the amenities. It was very easy to enter. Sharon as the host was available by phone and email to answer any questions. Also, she had provided lots of information about the area. All the decorations and touches made it very homey. The hot tub was a hit and in a perfect location to gaze at the endless sky at night. Will definitely rent again when back in the area!

Perfect Again!

This was our third time staying at Casa de Luz, and it's still perfect! My wife, mother and 2 children ages 5 and 6 stayed here as part of our ski vacation. As was the case both other visits, it was clean, comfortable and convenient. The kids loved the Hershey kisses, and the grown-ups enjoyed the complimentary bottle of very nice wine. Dealing with Sharon is a joy. She was very attentive to our needs and showed a true interest in helping us enjoy our stay in any way possible. Enjoying a view of the Northern New Mexico night sky while soaking in the hot tub was one of the highlights. We'll be back again next year!
