About this property
NICE FULLY FURNISHED QUIET ADIRONDACK CAMP "UNCAS ROAD CABIN IN THE FOREST"
This completely winterized cozy cabin is located in a private wooded setting that sits on three and one-half acres of land backing up to State Land and Rocky Mountain. Comfortable living room, dining room seats 8, kitchen is fully stocked with appliances. Full bath has a nice hot shower, standard house 40 gallon water heater. Beds are comfortable, with regular house mattresses. Back porch is lighted, enclosed and screened. Close to hiking and biking trails as well as the beaches at Inlet/Fourth Lake and Brown's Tract Pond has a nice quiet beach just 10 minute away. Five minutes to Inlet, Fern Park and boat launches at Fourth Lake, ten-twelve minutes to Old Forge, ten minutes to Big Moose, the water park and lots of shops and other attractions. Horseback riding stable nearby also. Moss Lake and Cascade Lake trails 7 minutes away. Hunting/hiking right out back on hundreds of acres of state land, and just up the road is the Bug Lake trail to more deer habitat.
This cabin is on Uncas Road, a snowmobile trail road.
The cabin has a comfortable living room, wood stove/fireplace, fully stocked kitchen with toaster, coffee maker, hot water teapot, waffle iron, blender, microwave, elec. food chopper, toaster oven, and two crockpots. Enclosed lighted back porch with rockers and views into the woods. A private main bedroom on the first floor has a queen-sized bed. Two loft bedrooms upstairs have 1 queen sized bed, one futon, and two twins, one of which has a trundle bed pull-out. The deer and turkey come and go most anytime. We have had three bear incidents so far. One was a bear on the back porch because someone left food there. Another was a bear walking up the driveway past the camp. Another was a sow with her cub. The sow was on the front steps, looking in the window of the door. They are always sniffing out food. Just keep it inside when you are done eating.
Internet phone can call anywhere in the country for free, good internet is available, flat-screen TV in LR, another TV upstairs and in master bedroom for VCRs and DVDs.
Plenty of VHS and DVD movies, 100 or so, including lots of kid's movies, are there at the cabin to watch on rainy days. Three TV's, ones in LR, one upstairs for the kids to watch movies, and one in master bedroom.
We have a nice library of books on shelves throughout the the cabin, many of which are Adirondack oriented. Great for rainy day reading.
NOTE: Be sure to bring your own bedsheets, pillow cases and towels. They are not supplied by us. We do have pillows and blankets for you. NOTE: The washer and dryer/laundry room is available for rentals of 5 (five) nights or longer. For rentals of 3-4 nights, the laundry room is locked. The assumption is that you are able to bring enough changes of clothes/towels with you for your shorter stay. NOTE: We can sometimes accommodate up to a late checkout of 4 PM for a $100 fee, but you'll need to ask beforehand. [If another renter is coming the day you are leaving, this is not possible, as we need to verify that it's been cleaned] If you have a normal checkout time of 11 AM, please be considerate and check out by 11 AM.

We enjoyed our stay very much! Very good communication with Bruce and Caryn prior to and during our stay. Location was perfect right between Olde Forge and Inlet. Would definitely stay again!
Throughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin . Close to everything that we wanted to do. Well equipped kitchen. Great communication with the hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
Very quaint and cozy. Nice, quiet setting in the Adirondacks. Clean and stocked will with all the things you need and internet is a plus. We enjoyed and it and had a nice restful break.
We had an amazing time staying in this charming cabin! We will look forward to staying again sometime! Caryn and Bruce were wonderful to deal with and had great communication before and during our stay. We would absolutely recommend this place! Thanks again!

My family and I usually stay in Old Forge but this gem in Eagle Bay was great. We enjoyed ourselves all week long and look forward to going back. The back porch was so nice to sit and relax and read after having a fire in the fire pit. Bruce was a wonderful host and always answered all my questions. We look forward to going back..thank you

Thank you so much for this nice review Jill.
And thanks for taking good care of our place in the mountains.
We hope you can stay again. Bruce and Caryn
Exactly the getaway place we were looking for - and expecting! Private with the feeling of being isolated, but SO close to all we needed - groceries & shopping in Inlet, hiking of all kinds, private beach at Upper Pond… plus a roomy rustic Adirondack cabin (with a fully stocked kitchen for ease of all the cooking we did)!
Definitely on our list of places to return to!

Nice private cozy place. Communication with hosts excellent. VRBO says the place has a spa/hot tub that we were looking forward too, but there is not one.
Lovely and clean cabin just as described. Great location in between Inlet and Old Forge. Quiet road and property. Close to a number of popular hikes. Communication with host was a breeze. Pleasant and responsive. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Peaceful quiet mountain cabin in such a beautiful forest! We really enjoyed our stay. Owners were quick to respond to answer our questions and offered guidance regarding local activities. Cabin was centrally located for our hiking, biking and boating adventures.Local store owner and Mechanic help us with a truck break down like we were family. We will definitely come again. Thank you Bruce and Caryn for a wonderful stay!

Out of the Way Yet Close By
We spent a great weekend in this well equipped cabin in the woods in the middle of a snowstorm. The small woodstove heated the well insulated place wonderfully but there was baseboard electric just in case.
Even though we felt like we were deep in the woods, just a very short drive got us to all the modern conveniences. We would definitely like to stay again.

Wow Dave, thank you! I won't mention that you forgot to mention we also have the automatic generator that kicks on to power the whole place in case power ever goes out. Glad you guys had a good time, and we hope to have you come again. The place looked great when we got there after your stay. Bruce
We had a wonderful mini vacation. The quaint cabin was located in the perfect location for our family. It was close to many different ponds and lakes as well as hiking trails. Inlet is a very short drive away with coffee shops and stores to enjoy. Old Forge is also a short drive. Bruce and Caryn were wonderful to work with. They were always available to answer any questions. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone traveling to the Adirondacks.

Thank you Gina,
If you guys ever need a place to stay up here again, we'll be glad to host you. The place was well taken care of by you. Bruce nd Caryn
We had a nice stay at the cabin (4 nights). There were toys for the kids and lots of VCR/DVD's for when we were inside. We had plenty of room at the cabin and the enclosed back porch was very relaxing and cozy. Close location to Inlet and just 10 minutes from Old Forge. Communication with owner was great. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

About the host
Hosted by Bruce and Caryn
We use the cabin ourselves during the spring, summer and fall in between rentals. It's our home away from home.
Why they chose this property
Secluded and quiet, but only 2 miles from Rt. 28 at Eagle Bay. Four miles to downtown Inlet. 10 minutes from Brown's Tract ponds. We have a big aluminum canoe for you to use up at Brown's Tract if you have a way to carry it there. For instance, a cartop rack and some ratchet straps.
What makes this property unique
3.5 wooded acres adjacent to state land/Rocky Mountain. Hundreds of acres of state land directly behind our property.
