About the host
Hosted by Suzanne Berceau
Hi there! We’re Suzanne and Douglas — a husband-and-wife team who run a small, family-owned remodeling and hospitality business in the Seattle area. This house was one of our first homes, and we’ve always had a special connection to it. We love creating warm, comfortable spaces where guests can relax and feel at home. Hosting allows us to share the same care and attention we’ve put into our own family home with travelers from all over.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it offers the best of both worlds — close to downtown Seattle, yet peaceful and spacious. The lots in this area are larger than most parts of the city, which gives it more of a relaxed, outside-the-city feel. We’ve always loved the sense of space, the big backyard, and the friendly, down-to-earth community. It’s central, convenient, and still feels like a retreat after a busy day in the city.
What makes this property unique
This home has a special story — it was one of our first, and we’ve carefully updated it while keeping its original charm. The vintage hardwood floors and kitchen layout reflect its character, while the remodeled bathrooms and finished basement bring a touch of modern comfort. The spacious backyard is one of our favorite features — perfect for relaxing, hosting, or just enjoying the fresh air in a setting that feels peaceful and private, yet minutes from downtown Seattle.
