Our group stayed at the house this past weekend and had a great stay. Leading up to the trip, the Owner was very organized and helpful which made things very easy for us. The property has nice grounds, beautiful views and is close to Town. I found the description and photos to be very accurate. I would recommend it and will be back in the future.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this home away from home! We felt very comfortable here, super clean and a relaxing atmosphere. The photos do not do the property or the views justice. Very close to town, but far enough away to truly relax and unwind. I especially appreciated the fully stocked kitchen (non food products). Normally i have to bring my own items, but they were all here for me! Made my life very easy!!

Great property with everything you will want for a weekend getaway.

Went up with my fiancé and another couple. Property and house were great. Host has everything you need. We wanted to get out of town for the weekend and found this property. Everything was clean and comfortable. More than enough space for us and then some. House is loaded with entertainment. The hot tub and grill were a huge plus. Looking forward to going back at some point. Thank you again!

Charming, Clean, and Amenity-Filled

We stayed here for a late summer weekend and will definitely be returning for ski season. The house was immaculate, cozy, and fully equipped. Bf and I slept in one of the downstairs bedrooms. We arrived at night, so we couldn't really see anything outside. Prepared a yummy dinner in the large and *fully* stocked (even has an cappuccino maker!) kitchen, had some drinks and went to bed. When I woke up, I walked upstairs and was very pleasantly suprised by the beautiful sunny view. The living/dining room has two walls of windows facing onto the mountain and a large open field; it's really lovely. We had a pleasant and relaxing breakfast on the deck, taking in the views and the drama at the bird feeder (who knew blue jays were such bullies?!) The house is super close (~5min) to Windham, but is also only a 15 min ride or so to Hunter. We went to Hunter for the ziplining. It is apparently the longest and highest zip line in North America (the first line was definitely looooong and the guides are great). Our 2nd night, we BBQ'd dinner on the deck. There's a fireplace, which I'm sure we'll use in the winter, but during our summer visit we used the firepit instead. It was awesome seeing zillions of stars (we're from NYC so we only usually see a handful) and roasting marshmallows in the backyard. We didn't have any kids with us, but for those that do, there is a separate family room downstairs that has a huge tv, board games, and video games. There were only 6 of us this time, but the house can very easily fit more (we had three empty beds). Considering the amenities and how many people can comfortably fit, this house really is a bargain. Ps: We ate breakfast the 2nd morning at the Catskill Mountain Country Store in town. Portions were huge and breakfast was delicious :)

The chalet was as described in property description through VRBO. Check in was very easy. Home was clean and just as pictured. The kitchen was stocked very well. The hot tub was a blessing with the heat wave. We would definitely stay at the Chalet in the future!

Great Weekend with Friends

This is the second time my friends and I have stayed here and we love this house. The open great room/dining area/kitchen space is perfect for gathering with friends. From that space and the deck, you get a fantastic view of the slopes on Windham. My only note would be that the hot tub has seen better days. We definitely used it, but the water was at the end of its use before we got there and the cover and straps are falling apart.

Beautiful views convenient location

This is a lovely property in Windham. With beautiful views of Windham mountain right out the living room. The large grass area is lovely for kids to play as is the fire pit and jacuzzi. The only reason one star is removed is because the listing stated that there would be a washer and dryer available. When we got there there was a sign on the washer and dryer stating it was broken and could not be used. As we were traveling with a little girl who was a bit shaky on potty training, we were depending on that washer and dryer. It would have been nice to know in advance that we would not be able to use it.

Weekend in the Country

Eight members of our family, (6 adults and 2 children), traveled to the Catskills for a memorial service. This house suited us perfectly. It had a large yard for the kids to play in, a fire pit for the evening, and a hot tub for the adults to relax in both during the morning and night. The stars were unbelievable come night time. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. It was clean, and exactly as depicted upon our arrival. Angel, the owner has done a wonderful job of providing multiple copies of a binder filled with info on the house, activities and restaurants. She responded promptly to any inquiries from the moment I booked the house. The non GPS directions were great! There are light colored carpets throughout the house, which explains the multiple requests to take shoes off upon entering. There are plenty of shoe trays at every entrance to accommodate this. Just be aware that even though there is a $135 cleaning fee, the renter is responsible for bringing the trash and recyclables to the transfer station down the street. We felt that should have been part of the cleaning crew duties. I highly recommend this property for a getaway to this beautiful area of NY. We hope to come back under more favorable circumstances to explore the area. On a side note, if you like beer, definitely stop at Beer World in Catskill, and take a trip to West Kill Brewery (located 5 miles down a beautiful country road in the middle of no where).

Amazing Location for a Week Away

The house is located on a large piece of property, secluded but still close to town. The deck provides beautiful views of the mountain (we were there in the Fall when the leaves were changing) and there’s lots of room both inside and out. Inside: more than enough room for 8 people, fireplace in the living room that was a great place to relax in the evening or a lazy Sunday morning. I’m sure it’s perfect after a long day on the slopes too! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook large meals, we also took advantage of the grills and eating outside a few evenings. Outside: fire pit, hot tub, and tons of room for the kids to run and play. And the views – perfect when enjoying breakfast on the deck in the morning! Close enough to downtown for happy hour, shopping, an evening out, etc. Perfect for a group week away – can’t wait to come back again!

Best Spot For a Weekend to Unwind from the World

Loved this place. Very cozy house, has room for a lot of people to sleep and hangout comfortably. It's really the best of both worlds - If you want to stay indoors, it has a nice fireplace, TV's all around, great wifi, apple tv so you can stream Netflix, etc. It's stacked with board games if you want to unwind from electronics. Everything in the house is precisely detailed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you're outdoorsy - they have a big backyard, an amazing fire-pit, and the greatest Jacuzzi I've ever been to. Doesn't matter how cold it is, you get in there and the feeling is indescribable. Don't consider an upstate trip location if it doesn't have an outdoor jacuzzi - it really makes all the difference. The owners are unbelievable. They respond quickly to all text messages. I was extremely annoying and was messaging them quite often, yet they always would answer kindly and were very helpful! My time there was exactly what I needed to just relax. A true vacation.

Relaxing and isolated mountain getaway..

A small group of my close friends and I head upstate every year to get away from the city, get fresh air, cook good food, and enjoy nature. We were very lucky to find the Chalet - great location in Windham - with some great sites like the Arbetarium for a relaxing and very Instagrammable hike and Deer Inn nearby for a warm cocktail by the fire. The fall is a great time to go since it's not yet too cold and it's pretty quiet before ski season. Everything in the house was well organized and thought out, making our stay very convenient and easy. The N64 was a great touch and nice throwback. :)

We had a great stay here. We were 4 couples coming over for the weekend. Instructions for check in were timely. We had initially reserved in June but had to reschedule and Angel was very accommodating with the change of plan. Great hiking spots close to the chalet. We did hikes both saturday and sunday. The kitchen was well stocked with spices oil etc and all the equipment available to use was perfect. All in all great stay!

A beautiful, amenity filled home with an amazing view!

I stayed at the chalet recently and was blown away by the hospitality and accommodation of the owners...and not to mention the beauty of the home and view! A picturesque view of Windham Mountain ski resort and the right mix of nature and closeness to town. I didn't even need to bring anything besides food as the home was fully stocked with everything needed to make my stay comfortable and convenient. I highly recommend the chalet!

Owners were born and raised in the same town minutes away from each other with an overlapping circle of friends and although didn't know one another there, by ways of traveling the NorthEast for their individual jobs, met at work, got to know one another and fell in love in NYC. They've been inseparable since day one, got married some years later and decided that NYC was to be their home and made Windham their home away from home.

Why they chose this property

This chalet spoke to us the first time we visited it. It was one of the first places we looked at and always came back to it no matter how many we saw. We were looking for something specifically in Windham because of its proximity to the Manhattan, its breathtaking beauty and culture, for it to be close to town as well as to the mountain and we wanted a large enough chalet to have our many friends and very large extended family come over anytime and not feel cramped for space. We searched high and low and did a full circle and ended up purchasing the property that we wanted, almost a year to the date, after we saw it for the first time! The bonus was that it has a phenomenal view in all seasons!! We hope that you appreciate the reasons why we chose this chalet over the many others in the area!

What makes this property unique

The uniqueness of this chalet is that it's an 'upside down' house meaning the living space is upstairs and the bedrooms are downstairs. So the beautiful views of nature and the mountain can be appreciated all the more because we spend most of our waking hours in the living room, the kitchen and the dining areas or deck so it's a perfect way to always have the outdoors with you even when you are indoors! We hope you love this as much as we do!
