★☆ The Whistling Porch – Bright, Spacious Augusta Retreat Minutes from the Masters ☆★
This home is named in honor of our beloved grandpa Bob, who had a gift for spreading joy everywhere he went—often through a cheerful whistle. Just like Bob, this house radiates warmth, optimism, and the easy comfort of good company. Whether you’re here for the Masters Tournament, a family getaway, or a fun escape with friends, The Whistling Porch was made for laughter, relaxation, and lasting memories.

☆★ The Space ☆★
Step inside and exhale—the home’s airy, open-concept design connects the family room, living room, dining area, and kitchen into one beautiful, social space. It’s perfect for cooking, entertaining, or just gathering around music and conversation.

.☛ Kitchen: Bright, open, and fully stocked for real cooking and entertaining. You’ll find everything you could possibly need—a complete set of pots, pans, baking sheets, serving bowls, and utensils. There are two full silverware sets, a knife block, multiple glasses (including wine glasses and mugs), and essentials like olive oil, salt, pepper, and a full range of spices. Enjoy two coffee options—a Keurig and a Nespresso—plus a wine opener, bar tools, and thoughtful extras that make this kitchen feel like home.

.☛ Dining Room: A beautiful centerpiece of the house with a large table for eight, upgraded gold-colored silverware, cloth napkins, martini tools, and elegant touches for special meals. The chandelier with Edison bulbs glows over colorful candlesticks, and we’ve even included candles and table décor for birthdays or celebrations, because we believe every stay deserves a little sparkle.

.☛ Living Room: Spacious, comfortable, and designed for connection. Sink into the large sofa, stream your favorite shows on the Roku TV, and enjoy the natural light that fills the room throughout the day. It’s the perfect spot for relaxing after a day at the Masters, movie nights with friends, or lazy mornings with coffee in hand.

☆★ Bedrooms & Bathrooms ☆★
.☛ Primary King Suite: Filled with natural light, ceiling fan, smart TV, and windows overlooking the front porch.
.☛ Downstairs Queen Suite: Has its own private bathroom, dresser, TV, desk, and sitting area—perfect for guests seeking privacy.
.☛ Upstairs King Bedroom: Airy and peaceful with soft blue tones, seating nook, ceiling fan, and TV. We call this the "sensory room" as there is no artwork at all, just neutral tones.
.☛ Upstairs Twin Room: Two cozy twin beds with dresser, closet, and TV—ideal for kids or friends.

.☛ Bathrooms: 3 total—bright, clean, and stocked with towels, essentials, and thoughtful touches.

☆★ Upstairs Hallway Nook ☆★
At the top of the stairs, you’ll find a peaceful little hallway retreat—a quiet corner with a couple of comfortable seats, perfect for reading, journaling, or just taking a moment to yourself. As night falls, you’re accompanied by a friendly astronaut (long story!!) light that casts tiny twinkling stars across the ceiling, adding a dreamy glow to the space. It’s a small, magical touch that guests of all ages love—a gentle reminder that even in the calmest corners, there’s always a bit of wonder waiting.

★☆ Outdoor Living ☆★
The outdoor spaces are pure Augusta magic.
.☛ Front Porch: Classic Southern charm with a porch swing and cozy seating under string lights—a perfect spot to sip coffee or maybe channel a little Bob and whistle in the breeze.
.☛ Backyard Retreat: Fenced-in and designed for relaxation and fun—featuring a fire pit, cornhole, ladderball, barbecue grill, pergola swing, tiki torches, BBQ, and plenty of comfortable seating.

Come stay at The Whistling Porch—where comfort meets Southern charm, and the spirit of Bob’s easygoing whistle still lingers in the air.

Guests have full access to the entire main home—every room, both porches, and all the relaxing hangout spots. The Whistling Porch is completely yours to enjoy: cook, play games, grill out, or unwind by the fire pit under the lights. There’s also a small cottage in back with a quiet scientific researcher who lives there. He’s at the lab about 18 hours a day and literally loves when guests are around—but the space is totally separate and private, so you’ll hardly notice he’s there.

You’ll love the neighborhood—amazing, friendly neighbors next door and an easy, relaxed vibe all around. Parking is available on the street in front or just to the right of the house. (Pro tip: don’t drive all the way down the driveway unless you love backing up a long way—just pull up a car length or two and you can easily back out.) Please turn off lights and the air conditioning when you head out—there’s a separate unit for each floor. Trash day is Thursday morning if you’d like to roll the bins out (no pressure!). And one quick note—the colorful candles in the dining room are decorative only, so no lighting those. Most of all, have an amazing time—this house was built for hanging out, relaxing, and enjoying good company.

★☆ Pets ☆★
All pets are welcome at The Whistling Porch—we truly love furry guests of every kind (well, almost every kind). Please just no giant farm animals—no goats, horses, or cows, even if they’re exceptionally well-mannered. Dogs are more than welcome, but please make sure they’re not barking excessively, especially when left alone, since we value our peaceful, friendly neighborhood vibe. Otherwise, relax and enjoy—pets are part of the family here!

★☆ Things to Note ☆★
We want your stay at The Whistling Porch to feel as comfortable and easy as being at home.
.☛ Owner’s Closet: There’s one small locked owner’s closet reserved for our friendly local helpers who restock supplies and maintain the home between guest stays. It won’t be accessed while you’re here—everything else is 100% yours to enjoy.
.☛ Housekeeping: Our amazing cleaning team takes great pride in keeping the home spotless. If you need extra towels or have a special request during your stay, just send a message and we’ll take care of it.
.☛ Quiet Hours: Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that outdoor noise wind down around 10 p.m. Feel free to enjoy the fire pit and music—just keep the volume relaxed after that hour.
.☛ Fire Pit & Grill: Please make sure both are fully extinguished after use, and keep an eye on little ones near the flames. Guests must bring their own firewood and fire starter for the fire pit, for they may not be available.
.☛ No Smoking Indoors: Smoking is not allowed inside, but you’re welcome to step outside and enjoy the porch or backyard.

★☆ Gentle Care & Common-Sense House Rules ☆★
.☛ Vinyl Records & Player: Please handle albums by the edges/label only (avoid touching the grooves). Use clean, dry hands, set the record gently on the platter, and lower the needle with care. Don’t move the turntable while it’s playing, and keep the dust cover closed when not in use. When you’re done, return records to their sleeves.
.☛ Dryer Lint: Kindly clean the lint screen after each cycle (a quick swipe does wonders). This keeps everything safe and drying efficiently.
.☛ Glassware: We love our glasses—please handle with care, especially near the porch, swing, grill, and fire pit. Use coasters on wood surfaces, and give glass items a stable spot (no ledges or armrests).
.☛ Decorative Candles: The candles in the dining room are decorative only—please don’t light them or you may be tapping into the fire extinguisher :):) Incidentally, there is one under the kitchen sink!
.☛ Use Good Judgment: If something sparks, flames, wobbles, or seems risky, pause and choose the safer option—or message us. We want you comfy, happy, and safe.
.☛ Check-Out: We kindly ask that check-out be completed by 10 a.m., unless otherwise arranged. Our team needs time to refresh the home for the next guests.

We’re so happy to share this space with you—thank you for treating it with the same care and joy that Grandpa Bob (the original “whistler”) would’ve loved.

My husband and I live in Seattle with our three teenagers and our high-maintenance Italian Greyhound. We’re close by to help care for my mom. I grew up in Maryland, he’s from Canada, and we met years ago in California. He’s into golf, I love spending time outdoors, and our kids—well, they mostly love their phones.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this neighborhood—and this house—within the first three seconds of seeing it. It’s close to the Masters, which was an instant draw since my husband is an avid golfer, and the neighbors were incredibly warm and welcoming. We also love how convenient it is: a short drive to downtown, with a trendy local coffee shop just around the corner.

What makes this property unique

This home just has great energy—spacious, bright, and welcoming. The high ceilings, open floor plan, and oversized rooms make it perfect for gathering and relaxing. The huge backyard is ideal for games (we’re a big game-playing family!), and I designed the space with every detail in mind from years of traveling and staying in Airbnbs. I wanted to create the kind of place I always wished I could find—comfortable, stylish, and thoughtfully equipped with everything guests might need.
