Everything was excellent! We had a great time! The host even left snacks for us. It is a beautiful cabin! Fully stocked with everything you need. Will stay there again. Loved the lake view! Loved the swing on the porch!
Very cute and comfortable cottage. We enjoyed the peaceful setting, the thought the host put into making the guests stay easier (shampoo, nail tools, snacks, games, etc) and the amazing decor! 100 Stars
This home/cabin was everything it was listed as. Very clean with alot of extras, quite, relaxing environment. The host was easy to communicate with. Absolutely no complaints or suggestions. It was perfect we will recommend to family and friends and be back.
We had a great time! The cottage was everything advertised and more! Thr hosts made sure everything we needed was provided. Communication was excellent and we would highly recommend a stay here! We also loved we could bring our dog!
Absolutely stunning place with a back porch you could sit on forever! The host was so helpful and responsive. The location is amazing, I really can't say this enough! Book it, you won't be disappointed. We will be back forsure!
Beautiful serene UP cabin was an amazing relaxing getaway! No detail was spared and we felt so welcomed the second we stepped foot inside. Easy location for bringing our boat to fish and enjoy family time in the eastern UP! Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful location on Caribou lake! We will definitely be using this serene location again! The host was very quick to communicate and check in and out was as easy as it gets! Thanks so much for the restful reset!
Private and beautiful. Bring water shoes. The beach has some tree branches but manageable without them. The cabin was clean smelled great. Master bed was a little too high up and hard for me. Though the neighbors are close the trees make you feel like no one is around swim area is very private the way the shoreline and the trees. My only criticism is they could use more screens on the windows. The cabin got hot at night because we couldn't open the windows without creating a bug problem.
This place and hosts did not disappoint. Ease of check-in, cleanliness of the rooms and property, quality of the dishware and appliances was a very pleasant surprise. The location was perfect as our base location allowing for day trips to Drummond Island, Soo Locks, Narnia Trail, Mackinac City and Island, Tahquamenon Falls, and many other interesting places. The host supplied brochures of many other local places to visit.
The location on the northern end of Caribou Lake allowed for excellent sunset viewings off from the covered porch, or even better from the end of the dock in the lake. The lake bed is sandy, nice for wading. We will definitely recommend to friends and family.
We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was clean, spacious, and perfect for our family of five. We were only in town for a family wedding, so we didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities, but there were so many thoughtful touches that we would have loved to enjoy with a longer stay.We especially appreciated the cornhole boards and the selection of board games. Marcy has clearly put a lot of thought into making her guests feel welcome and comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked wonderfully throughout our stay, and the view was absolutely amazing. It was such a peaceful place to unwind. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent water pressure and the fact that everyone in our family was able to take hot showers without any issues. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would absolutely stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!
A few miles West of De Tour, MI on the shore of serene Caribou Lake, this waterfront cottage was so lovely. The entire property is nature-beautiful, quiet and private. I believe the cottage's core is vintage; log cabin-based If so, it was obviously just restored with pride, care and attention to style and modern comfort details-- newly renovated to a ready-for-HGTV functionality, comfort and overall prettiness. Even internet and 3 streaming TV's that all were glitch-free. I also have to believe that this was it's first summer open to guests, ALL things looked so new! The "extras" that came with the cottage with the cottage also were perfect (and new), like the dock, fully-equipped kitchen and bath, games and other R&R supplies, romantic lighting, comfy beds and furniture, rugs, carpets. Roomy too. It somehow it seems bigger on the inside than from the outside. Outdoor space is large and enticing (flat space out front for yard games; chairs, fire pit with wood etc. in the back overlooking the dock and lake). The views were terrific, lake-side. I wish owned a boat, the state launch is less than a mile away. The U.P. cottage is outfitted to keep people nice warmly cozy, but that wasn't required our week. There were fans, but no a/c, and we had warm days & nights. Most of the windows don't open, so the fans were a must for sleeping (& napping). De Tour Village is nice enough, but it's main perk is it serves as the Ferry to Drummond Island, a jewel of Michigan.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lakeside cabin. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, with gorgeous views of the lake and a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home! The cabin was spotless, comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for our stay.It was the perfect place to unwind enjoy the scenery and spend quality time together. The host has truly created a beautiful and welcoming retreat and we appreciated all the care and attention that went into making such a special place. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and would happily stay here again!
We absolutely loved staying at this cabin for our anniverary! It was so peaceful and quiet. The decor was lovely, the view of the lake is so pretty. We are planning to return with our family in the future! This would be great place to bring kayaks and/or a side by side to explore the area. Equally as good, would be to bring a good book and a friend to enjoy the swing lakeside and a conversation around a campfire.
