Very good

My only complaints are the roaches in the house and no blinds or curtains on the front windows. There was no can opener that worked.Location is great. House was clean, mostly.
Good place and service. Wish there was a little more direction on how to get there on the island and that we had access to the amenities past the gate. Feel like we lost out on some good opportunities, otherwise very nice
Location is great! Host was responsive and the space was HUGE - lots of room to stretch out for the long weekend. Loved it and will be back!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
The property was great for pets! Home was clean and neat, furniture was a bit tired , especially in the sunroom. The kitchen was lacking a sharp knife and hotpads and the temperature markings were worn off on the cooktop. The location was great. Close to beachwalker park and lovely sunsets on the river at the dock.
Overall this was a great property! We would likely stay here again as the location was great for the price. The kitchen was well appointed, it was nicely furnished and decorated. It is hard to find rentals that do not put size restrictions on dogs so this was perfect for us. However, a few small things just somewhat lessen the property appearance. The mini blinds in the kitchen and dining areas are damaged and were hanging crooked when we arrived. There are some areas where the drywall tape is pulling away from the ceiling and it just gives the property a distressed look. Those are purely cosmetic and don't really affect things and can be easily fixed. The owners might want to consider a new double sized mattress in the 2nd bedroom though. It was rough sleeping on a hill as my husband's side sank when he laid down- to the point that I had to put a pillow under me to keep from rolling over. Keep in mind that he is not a large man. We did have an issue in the master bath with the shower door falling off onto someone, at least it was our son who could catch it and keep it from shattering. Luckily our 1 year old granddaughter was not bathing at the time. But we called and someone came to fix it in a very timely manner. Having vacationed on Kiawah almost yearly over the past 20 years we know that there is a certain expectation. This property is close to meeting that expectation but could use some small adjustments to raise that level.
If you’ve ever wondered what the Motel 6 of Kiawah Island might look like, this place is probably the closest thing.Kiawah itself is incredible. This property, unfortunately, is not.During our stay, a 60-lb glass shower door came off the track and fell while I was in the shower. Thankfully no one was hurt, but that’s obviously a serious safety concern. The AC also went out twice, which made things especially challenging traveling with three young kids. The house has a strong musty smell, like a damp, old towel that never really dries out.The pots and pans are heavily used with the coating gone, and the utensils feel like they were pieced together from a few different junk drawers over the years. I’ve honestly had more functional setups using camping gear.Overall, the property feels tired, poorly maintained, and not well cared for. From a management standpoint, communication was inconsistent. While responses did come at times, the issues we experienced were not fully resolved during our stay, and we were told compensation would be provided, which did not end up happening. The important thing to know is that there are hundreds of homes on Kiawah that look very similar in photos.I would recommend choosing one of those instead.Kiawah is a great place to visit — I would just encourage others to carefully consider their options when booking.
