The property was clean and well-maintained. Most kitchen items were available, but some were in limited quantities (measuring cups, baking sheets). Floor transitions between the rooms downstairs were uneven (could be a tripping hazard for some). The wood flooring on the stairs could be slippery at times - perhaps adding a carpet runner would help with falling hazard. Lighting at the stair level would also be helpful. The air conditioning worked well downstairs, but the upstairs bedrooms were hot. The posted information inside the house stated that yard maintenance would be done twice during the week, but we were surprised (and unhappy) that someone was inside the backyard almost every day to move the trash cans in and out.
This is not a party house; it’s a *SANCTUARY RETREAT*!!! This is a HIDDEN GEM in San Diego for families, middle-aged to older couples, or anyone looking for peace & quiet after busy days in the bustling city, packed beaches & exciting attractions. It’s super close to multiple highways so that we had access to all the fun we wanted, but nestled in Tierrasanta, a neighborhood they call “The Island in The Hills” where we saw no grime or crime (literally did not see trash/debris anywhere, derelict buildings or even a single unhoused person). The house was on a quiet, safe family street, where kids & dogwalkers were common all day long. The back yard was a hidden oasis with lots of pretty greenery, privacy, SO many birds & lovely birdsong & a little patio to just sit & enjoy it all! There are stairs with solid railings & and a landing. My disabled 16 year old was able to navigate the stairs just fine. There is a sunroom with tons of windows & light & play stations for littles. That was a *huge* blessing to us.The tv system, shower, toilets, stove, dishwasher, washer/dryer & A/C all worked great. They had a fantastic door system. Made it impossible to forget a key, lock yourself out or forget to lock the door. (Cool enough that we’re thinking of getting the same model.) The master bed was very low to the ground, so could be an issue for folks with back and/or mobility struggles, but the mattress was great. We will be back for sure!
