We were there for my son’s graduation from navy power school.Lots of space. Adequately equipped. Owners respond promptly. Very clean. Access to laundry was extremely helpful! Everything (tourist wise) seems to be 30 minutes away- beaches are a little further. Necessities like groceries are closer. Floors are spongey in places. Windows/walls aren’t well insulated so you can hear EVERYTHING! Neighbors talking, loud cars, etc. For longer stays, (we were there 5 nights), you may need extra towels/paper goods. Overall a nice place to stay.
We recently stayed at this four-bedroom home near Charleston as we were doing the 10K bridge run and had an overall good experience, though there are a few things future guests may want to be aware of.The home appears to have been built in the 1970s and still feels very much like a house from that era. Everything we needed was technically there, beds, silverware, plates, towels, etc., but many items felt dated, worn, or lower quality compared to other vacation rentals we’ve stayed in.Three of the beds were very stiff, while one of them was older and quite squeaky. Some of the furniture and bedding showed noticeable wear and tear, including some stains. The floors also felt uneven or saggy in places. There were definitely positives. The towels were plentiful and clean, and the house had enough space for our group of six. Along with having a newer fridge with good ice. A few additional notes:• Kitchen supplies were basic but not quite enough for six people without washing dishes between meals• Small drip coffee maker (no Keurig) • Small microwave• Most of the kitchen utensils but missing some things like can opener, glass baking dishes etc…• Range hood light and fan did not work• Backyard table and chairs had no cushions and not able to be usedOverall, the home had the essentials and worked for our trip, but it felt dated and could benefit from updates, maintenance, and a few additional comfort items.
