About the host
Hosted by Kristen Ingrao
I’m the owner of Cypress Bay Marina & Resort, and like a lot of folks building something they care about, we’re learning, improving, and doing our best every single day. This place means a lot to us — the quiet mornings, the open water, and the way people immediately relax when they get here. It’s why we put our heart into making Cypress Bay better season after season. We’re not perfect, and we don’t pretend to be. But we are committed — to clean cottages, a smooth marina, clear communication, and giving guests a place that feels honest and comfortable. When something needs attention, we take care of it. When we can do better, we do. And when guests share what made their stay special, that’s what keeps us going. My favorite part of owning Cypress Bay is seeing people enjoy it the way it’s meant to be enjoyed — families grilling on the deck, early-morning anglers heading out before sunrise, or guests ending the day watching the sky fade over the water. This isn’t a flashy resort. It’s a peaceful corner of Kentucky Lake handled with real pride, a lot of effort, and a genuine desire to give people a place where life feels a little easier. We’re grateful for every guest who chooses to stay with us and be part of this little lakeside community.
Why they chose this property
The lake is the whole reason people come here — the water, the quiet mornings, the fishing, the sunsets, and that feeling you get when life finally slows down. Cypress Bay sits in a peaceful pocket of the lake where the water stays calm and the views stay big. That’s what makes this place special. Guests can walk right down to the marina, launch at first light, watch the sunrise settle over the water, and feel the lake right outside their door. So while the “neighborhood” itself isn’t the story, the lake absolutely is — and that’s why we chose this spot. Kentucky Lake does the heavy lifting. We’re just here to help people enjoy it.
What makes this property unique
What makes Cypress Bay unique starts with the space we offer. These aren’t hotel rooms where everyone’s piled on top of each other — our cottages give families room to live, not just sleep. Full kitchens, real living areas, private decks, and separate bedrooms mean guests can spread out, cook meals, play games, unwind, and actually enjoy their time together without feeling cramped. And then there’s the lake. Every cottage sits just steps from the water, with a free boat slip included so guests can get out on Kentucky Lake anytime they want. It’s quiet, it’s peaceful, and it feels like your own little corner of the shoreline. We’re not perfect, and we won’t pretend to be. But we care deeply about this place and we’re always improving — fixing what needs attention, updating as we go, and keeping everything as clean and comfortable as possible. Guests appreciate that it’s real, relaxed, and run by people who genuinely want them to have a great stay. It’s simple, true lake living with room to breathe — and that’s something a hotel just can’t offer.
