We really enjoyed our stay at this great house! The view was amazing and the beach was wonderful! Everything was as pictured and very well kept. The host was quick to respond and was very helpful! Hope to stay again!
Lovely home with responsive owners. Private, sandy beach and unbelievable views. Home has all the amenities you could need while being close enough to Manistee for dinner out, a stroll on the pier or limited shopping. Great for family and extra bunk house with tv was great for teenagers. Would highly recommend.
Very comfortable property and everything you would need. The views were absolutely breathtaking from inside and outside the property. Found the nearby town of Ludington very charming. Would definitley stay again.
Wow! We spent a wonderful week at your beautiful home and couldn’t have been happier. Didn’t know much about the area when we booked but there was much to see and do and Manistee itself is charming. Would definitely return. This place had it all.
Gorgeous waterfront home nestled in the woods very private
We absolutely loved the home. The two walls of just glass gave us a view of lake from all areas of the main living space. Absolutely gorgeous place to stay and loved the separate porch/room the ability to wash off the sand either using the shower or the foot sprayer was wonderful. The house was well appointed with high-end kitchen, beach towels, etc. The kayaks were so much fun as well as the paddleboard. It was great to have our own beach to go to right out the door.
This property has spectacular views of Lake Michigan, great sunsets, modern appliances and accessories, and wonderful and thoughtful hosts who have gone the extra mile to make everything special for guests. The kids loved walking along the beach for sea glass, sitting around the fire pit, doing the river walk in Manistee, and driving up the Lake Michigan coastline. We loved everything about this place and plan to return.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at this lakeside cottage. Kitchen was very well stocked, with beautiful views of the lake. The bunk room was perfect for our two children! The kayaks and paddle board were awesome when the lake was calm, beautiful clear water! Highly recommend a visit to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the charming town of Ludington nearby.

Thankyou so much for staying with us!! So glad you enjoyed your stay!!
We were very impressed with our vacation rental.
Everything was as described in the listing.
The house was very clean and stocked well.
The lake and beach did not disappoint us!
We all enjoyed our week
We had a wonderful week at this rental! The property and home were stunning. Beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty to keep my two young kids occupied. We spent hours walking the beach looking at rocks and finding seaglass. The views and the sound of the waves are simply incredible. Thanks for a special week!
Simply amazing. Beautiful home that offers plenty of indoor and outdoor space to relax and enjoy the sights & sounds of Lake Michigan. Coffee on the beach in the morning and S'Mores around the firepit at night.

We are so happy you had a relaxing week! Thankyou for staying with us🙏👍😄
This was our 7th summer in Michigan and our 6th rental house there. The house was very clean. With 3 kids, we loved the easy access to the water/beach water (searching for sea glass is so much fun), the additional tvs (including the one in the enclosed porch), the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts, we could go on and on. Check out the Daily Bakehouse in Manistee, Sleeping Bear Dunes (and nearby Glen Arbor).

We are so glad you enjoyed your vacation!! We really appreciate you staying with us !!
We had two wonderful weeks at this great beach house. It was a perfect getaway. The outside living area is where we spent the most time. The spacious table on the deck made it easy for our group to have most of our meals. We grilled, played cards and watched the sunsets. We'll definitely return.
Great property. Well stocked kitchen. Termendous views of the lake from the main room and bedrooms. Quick jaunt down to the beach. Bonus room is great. Kids bunk room is good.Furniture looks nice but is very uncomfortable. Wi-Fi coverage was spotty outside of the main room (bedrooms, outside). Could use some another set of beach chairs in the locker down at the beach. I wouldn't stay here with kids again until the wood pilings are all removed. Some are small enough to be hidden but caused a minor injury when someone stepped on one without seeing it.
The house is nearly perfect! We’ve rented quite a few Lake Michigan vacation homes and this is our new favorite! The beds are comfy! The home is so clean. We didn’t find ourselves working around someone else’s toiletries, clothes or food. The extra tv room/bunk house was a huge hit with our teens! We appreciated the quality appliances and kitchen wares. The hot water seemed endless. The nearly 180 degree view of Lake Michigan was beautiful. We hope to return!
The property is beautiful - the cottage is modern with a beautiful aesthetic. Appliances are all top grade. Beds super comfortable. Fabulous view of the lake from inside and out on a wonderful deck. Steps to the private beach. A wonderful fire pit out front. Beautiful sunsets. And the nature! We saw at least four different bald eagles. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. This is a great place for families and couples alike. Two different wings give different parties privacy and their own bathrooms. We will definitely be back!
Exactly as shown! A beautiful home with a stunning view to match. A family getaway with time well spent and memories made.A few minor idiosyncrasies…….rug inside the front door was a bit dangerous as it slid out of place instantly. Not much storage throughout the home but not a necessity when just visiting. Lighting in main room not the best, nor was the living room furniture very cozy, however, the large windows on the back of the house looking out to the lake were a bonus. Positive notes…….owners provided a large supply of amenities, including quality beach towels, toiletries, bath towels, coffee/latte bar, tiki torches & fuel, outdoor furniture, fire pit & wood. In addition, the home was very clean & nicely decorated. Quick & easy communication with owners, both personally and online. We traveled from central Illinois. We are not likely to return only because it’s not necessary to travel so far north to obtain the same benefits that we received in Manistee. There are plenty of other cities along the west coast of Michigan that offer similar features.Overall, I would highly recommend this place to others. The Opal House is a beautiful little gem hidden off a quiet lane. Perfect getaway to unwind, relax, and capture a deep breath.
