WOW doesn’t say enough!!!

From the our first communication with our new dear friend Liz to the moment we opened the door to the WOW cottage, Patty & I were absolutely MESMERIZED! The manner in which the cottage’s timeliness & quaint time period was maintained to a tee during their renovvations. Liz & her hubby scoured antique & collectible shops & online for furnishings & just the right pieces to go into the WOW Cottage to all come together to make it the “adult escape into creativity & imagination” it is!Where can you possibly go & stay in such a totally different, whimsical place in a lovely town & come home with two awesome friends?

Great little house

Loved this place. Very quirky with lots of interesting curios. It was well equipped with every convenience and gadget you could think of. 10 minute walk into town. Lovely back yard dining area and porch at the front. Great WiFi. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to any messages.

The best "WOW" stay ever!

We stay at the "WOW" cottage every year in October for the arts and craft festival in downtown Mt. Dora. The house is amazingly decorated with beautiful art of all mediums. The cottage is fully stocked with everything you could need from kitchen items to all household needs. It is clean, comfortable, and inviting. We love sitting on the front porch and having a BBQ in the back yard. The location is perfect for walking into quaint downtown. The local restaurants have a variety of offers and great shopping. We look forward to this stay every year. Thank you Liz and Lee for your warm hospitality.

Quick Getaway

The WOW cottage was exceptional!! We were in town for the Beach Volleyball national championships in Tavares. The cottage could not have been any better. It was fantastic!! Highly recommend it to anyone!!

2 weeks at the Wow Cottage

Very nice 2 weeks. Everything was provided for us, including coffee and tea, snacks and a dozen organic blue eggs. Very clean and great location. Liz was easily available anytime we needed help. Highly recommend the Wow Cottage for your next vacation.

The Wow Cottage

We so enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Unbelievable decor, and such special detail for every spot in the house. Every turn you make you find something new that makes this house very special. It is equipped with everything you need. The location is wonderful. It is five minutes from town and all the great restaurants. This is our second time staying in properties that are hosted by Liz and Lee and I must say every time has been an adventure. So Perfect & Unique

The WOW house was just a fun & unique place & my friend & I enjoyed it so much. The hosts couldn’t have been better, so accommodating & helpful in every way. The kitchen had top of the line appliances, beautiful dishes & more. Everywhere you look is decor that is fun & so different. Nice quiet location, & free shuttle to downtown. Take the historic tour. This is truly a WOW cottage!!

We recently stayed at "The Cottage That Makes You Go, 'WOW!'" and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations in every way possible. From the moment we arrived, to the day we sadly left the wows kept coming from this picturesque 1922 cottage nestled in the heart of Mount Dora's Historic District. This 1922 cottage seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern convenience. The owners, who also brought us "The Modern Tree House" and "The Fisherman's Cottage," have left no detail unattended. The cottage boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including motion-sensor trash cans and stainless steel appliances. Antique instruments, a 1904 baby grand piano, and Mackenzie-Childs art accents add character. Wooden shutters, original art, and quirky lighting make this meticulously restored home feel like a work of art. The bedrooms, including a master with en suite bathroom and a guest room with a stunning bed, are luxurious. The fully-stocked kitchen with granite countertops and Luna Garcia pottery is a delight. A destination in itself!

This place is an absolute delight! I can't say the number of times I actually said "Wow!" while staying at this gem. I did know there was a baby grand but was surprised by all the instruments stashed throughout the cottage. Wait till you find them. You'll be giggling, strumming, banging or plucking something before you know it. The 1922 house is an impeccably clean, eclectic mix of old fashioned elegance and modern convenience. Funky and fab collide to make this artistic cottage a head snapping delight that pulls you here and there with its museum quality furnishings and decorations. Think great-grandmas creaking front door meets a skylight in the ensuite master bath and candy apple red kitchen accessories. Your senses are delighted at every turn. There are impossibly white, soft sheets awaiting you along with thick, spa worthy towels. Lots of thoughtful toiletries. Large TVs and long, luxurious, deep cushioned couches. Let's not even get started on the mattresses. Everything you sit or lay on makes you feel like royalty. The best of everything...in a rental. Wow, who does that? Then there's the kitchen. You got it...nothing but the best. Loaded with lots of cookware you'd have at your own home. Along with a Keurig and assorted pods there are delicious snacks left with a welcoming note. Every cabinet you open has you again saying "Wow!" All the little things they thought to leave you in case you needed them. Quality things. I assume you've already read about the fresh, organic blue eggs. I mean Wow, who does that? Upon arrival I texted Liz that I felt like I was at an adult Disney running from one room to the next to see something else. Then I assured her I wasn't running in her house. She texted back that I should go ahead and run...that we should all play and laugh more. Well, shortly after I found the horse on a stick. All bets were off. The galloping had begun. We spent a lot of time on the porch. That porch swing is so soothing. The back patio is fabulous for a squirrel and bird show. But this cottage is so much more than just a place to stay. There is so much to explore and see here. Of course Mount Dora is a delight. But the cottage is truly a destination in itself. There is an air of fun at this Vrbo that we've never before had the privilege to experience. It is with gratitude that we say thank you for ALL you have done to make the Wow Cottage such a joy. Everyone - this is a MUST experience rental!

This was our second time at “The WOW Cottage” My husband and I just love the little quaint town of Mount Dora. Liz is just a wonderful host. She has made this little Cottage so warm and cozy…all the comforts of home and more. I bought some fabulous tea at one of the little shops in town and really wanted to try it. It was loose tea so I needed a tea strainer…wouldn’t you know there was one for me to use. We absolutely love this home and the host. Thank you again for another wonderful experience!

Surprise birthday weekend!

We had an excellent stay at the Wow Cottage. Very eclectic art designs and trinkets. Hard to explain. It's a must-see. We surprised my wife with a birthday weekend in Mount Dora. Several times we walked into town to visit the various restaurants and destinations. Highly recommend others to stay at the wow cottage! Liz is great at managing the property and makes your visit feel special.

Definitely WOW!

House was so quaint and cozy, and definitely a WOW experience from the decor to the rooms. Liz the host was GREAT! She was interactive with me and surprised us with goodies for my best friend's birthday. It was only 5 blocks from downtown therefore we never even used our car and enjoyed the downtown experience just as much. Very nice town and would definitely go back again and recommend this house to adults who want a quiet and cozy getaway. THANK YOU Liz!

The BEST!

This place is so much more than a cottage! Once inside you feel like you've stepped into a true vacation home, stocked with anything you could possibly need. Quirky and fun! The Master bedroom and sitting room made you feel like Royalty. The hosts have a spirit of excellence and couldn't be more attentive. I'm so grateful we chose the WOW Cottage to celebrate our 45th Anniversary week! If we ever return to Mt Dora we will definitely be returning to this treasure!

Each room has a quirky mix of both elegant and eclectic... from a whimsical floor lamp of colorful carved stacked animals to octopus art in the bathroom! We are very passionate about giving our guests a "Wow!" experience!
