This was an AMAZING place to stay. The walk from the parking lot to the houseboat is a bit, but the owner (Andrew) provides a nice wagon to put your stuff in and take it down to the rental which is very nice. There were a couple of small issues, but Andrew was MORE than willing to do what he could to make things right. In the end, he made everything right with us and my wife and I were MORE than happy. The houseboat is right on the Flint river. There is a screened in porch so you can enjoy the nights bug-free, and also, an nice dock in front of the screened in porch where you can soak your feet and enjoy the sun rise and sunset. Bring your fishing poles if you enjoy fishing. You can literally stand on the front deck and catch your dinner if you wish. The neighbors were wonderful. We spent one night just chatting with one neighbor and she was sweet as could be. We were within 5 minutes of Walmart for anything we needed, as well as several Mexican/BBQ restaurants that had great food, but we still felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. It was very peaceful and quite. The Marina had a WONDERFUL restaurant that was Hawaiian based. My wife lived in Hawaii and said the Hawaiian food was very authentic. I can't say enough good about this place. If you want something relaxing, on the water and quite, yet close to the comforts of the city, this is your place. If you are looking for a rental in this area - RENT THIS PLACE !!
