Private entrance and deck overlooking harbor this 850 square foot bright apartment is decorated to make you feel right at home, right away. Guests appreciate our helpful - but not intrusive style, our focus on quality that matters, without being precious. Private ~100 sq foot deck. Bedroom with cherry pencil post queen bed. LED Samsung 'Smart' TV in living room (Broadcast, HBO (Supplied) & access for your accounts to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and others). Eat in kitchen with basic stove and retro Fridge. Renovated large bath with tub and shower. Parking (1 space) on premises and easy walking to boats (day trips including Monhegan), restaurants, trolleys, shops, Opera House and all that Boothbay Harbor has to offer. Solid, quiet building. Great location

Great place to stay in Boothbay Harbor. Able to walk all over. Host gives suggestions for restaurants and we ate in all of them! Good choices. Especially Ports of Italy. Also suggestions of places to visit for my husband to paint. Nice deck to watch the world. Would definitely stay there again.

The location is the best, and Tom and sidekick “Ruthie”, are always there to greet and advised on things to do. we can’t imagine staying any where else. thanks again, Tom, see ya next year. Nothing but fabulous!

After our 2 week stay, it was hard to say goodbye to our 2nd floor apartment at 29 McKown. Tom was welcoming, as was Ruthie, his 4-legged side-kick. The apartment is spacious & well appointed. The best feature is the front deck overlooking the harbor & the quaint town. We ate breakfast & most dinners out there, sipped wine & did some excellent people watching. Location, location, location! We walked & walked and after our days out and about, our apartment was wonderful to come home to. We were comfortable from the moment we arrived and look forward to our return.

Perfect location & best host (Tom)

This rental was just as advertised. The location can’t be beat. You can (and will) walk to almost everything you want to see or do. Tom, the host, was a great communicator & met us when we arrived. He is delightful, as is his little sidekick (dog) Ruthie. Tom had provided us with extensive written info on places to see, things to do, and restaurants to try (and some to avoid). This saved us a lot of time doing our own research, and removed the trial & error aspect. He was accessible if we needed him throughout our stay but wasn’t intrusive. Having our own parking space was great. The rental was clean & charming, with everything provided that you might need. The balcony was the best, getting wonderful morning sun, and we cooked our breakfast & ate it out there every morning. It was also perfect to sit there & people watch, or watch the boats on the water down in the Harbor. The front porch (down at street level) also has comfy furniture for sitting any time of the day or evening. We were blessed with absolutely perfect weather during our whole stay. All in all, a great rental, a great vacation. Thanks Tom & Ruthie!

Ideal location in Boothbay Harbor

My husband and I enjoyed our week-long vacation in this beautiful location. The location just up the hill from the harbor was private enough but close enough to everything in town. Tom was an excellent host and suggested activities and restaurants based on our interests - and the changing weather! The rental was very comfortable and we especially enjoyed our private balcony - both for morning coffee as well as wine in the evening! It was worth staying here and was a great location to explore the entire Maine coast in easy day trips!

Location, location, location

We thoroughly enjoyed our month long stay in Boothbay Harbor. This house places you right downtown where all things fun-to-do happen. It's location is the best feature -- we were literally within walking distance of everything the bay has to offer. And when we weren't participating in the activities, we enjoyed just sitting on the lovely porch, overlooking the bay, and observing all the other tourists struggle to find a parking place. The next best feature of the house is the porch. We sat for hours reading, knitting (me not him), and just people watching. Right from the porch you can see the harbor boats coming and going all day long. There's quite a bit of street noise but that just adds to the ambiance of being in the center of things. Thirdly, our apartment was clean and comfortable -- a little quirky with its 1947 Kelvinator and the European washer/dryer -- the bed was very comfortable and being from Florida we loved being able to sleep with the windows and doors open letting in the ocean breeze. Finally, our hosts (Tom and Ruthie) were a delight. Tom was very helpful and pleasant and even included us in a reception he held in the main part of the house. And, Ruthie (dog), was the greeter every time we came in the door. What a sweet dog she is -- I will miss her. We loved BH -- we walked the entire city many times and sat on the opposite side of the bay for long periods. The Farmers Market is an additional surprise with great artisan breads and treats to purchase. No doubt - if you go, you'll love it! We hope to return in the near future. Thanks, TOM!!!

Best location to walk to all that Boothbay Harbor has to offer!

My wife and I stayed at 29 Mckown Street for three nights in June 2018. The location was the absolute best. From the second floor balcony, the view in the picture is exactly what you get. You are so close to the activities of the harbor yet far enough away to lose any noise or activity that might disturb you. The bed was very comfortable and the second floor unit had all that was necessary to make for a very cozy stay. All necessary utensils if you desired to make any meals, all linens, all other typical household items were supplied. This sure beats a single hotel room for comfort and the feeling of a home. We normally look for places out of town for the quietness, but this place has us rethinking that approach. It was so nice to get up, have coffee on the second floor deck, then walk off into the town to explore. After exploring, a short walk has you back at the unit with space and comfort to relax, regroup and plan more activities. We would not hestitate to come back here again.

this is our second stay at 29 McKown st. So needless to say we do enjoy it. The location is great, everything is within walking distance and , Tom and his sidekick, Ruthie, are great host and "hostess". tom is always willing to suggest something fun or a great place to eat after a long day. if you are thinking of staying in Boothbay, this is a great place to be!

Eclectic In the middle of everything, clean and comfortable

I walked, I ate, I sailed, I napped, I shopped, I listened to concerts and saw the fireworks from the balcony. I loved my visit to 29 McKown Street in Boothbay Harbor. Would recommend for any couple to stay and enjoy Boothbay Harbor area. Less than two blocks walk to the boats to go out in the harbor whale watch, seals, lighthouses hauling up Lobster cages. The botanical gardens the aquarium Lobster Co-op lobster for $7 a pound can't beat it. The Farmers Market on Thursday just outside of Boothbay within a couple miles farmers market, it's very nice fresh produce, sausage, cheese,homemade breads I would like to go back for that. Can't list everything you have to go and check it out yourself two thumbs up

This piece of property is sweet!

My husband and I rented the 2nd story apartment. It was so sweet! Very clean and well-maintained. You have everything you need: A nice-sized living room, kitchen and dining for 2, one bedroom and a full bath. You can see the harbor from the deck. Net-flix is a luxury for us and we enjoyed it on one of our days there. You can walk to everything. This was a first for us and it was sweet not to have to jump in the car, at a whim! We went to a couple of the restaurants for breakfast (blueberry pancakes:) and dinner (seafood). Caught lunch while we were traveling nearby...The bed was so comfortable and I was wondering what we were sleeping on. So, when I stripped the bed at the end of our stay:(, I saw the secret! Now the cat/dog is out of the bag! What's the secret??? Well, you'll just have to rent this little gem and find out for yourself:)! Tom is so nice. He brought us some English Muffins and cookies. Ruthie (the Westie) is so sweet too. Yes, I would definitely recommend this to my friends/relatives. Marge and Doug, Baltimore, MD. P.S. I loved running into Queen Elizabeth waving from the window!

What a great place to stay

If anyone is going to Boothbay Harbor Maine, look no further for a place to stay. The location is the best in town in my opinion, and you could not ask for a better host than Tom. He is very helpful and knows the area like the back of his hand. His accommodations are clean and Homey. Make sure you bring some baby carrots for Ruthie.

A Wonderful find!

We absolutely loved this property! The location was fantastic, and Tom(the owner) was hospitable and ready with a fix when we asked. We had a fabulous view of Boothbay Harbor, and a wonderful balcony to enjoy morning breakfast and afternoon drinks! We were sad to leave, it was a great "home away from home" for our month long stay. My husband and I each give Tom (and Ruthie!) two thumbs up. We couldn't have been more pleased!

Superb Boothbay Harbor Experience

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at 29 Mckown for two wonderful days. What a gem of a special Maine harbor town and what gem of a place to stay! Tom provided such great local information which made our trip even better. Our short trip so great we realized two days was not enough. We stayed in the second floor apartment and wow, so very cozy, comfortable, spacious and with reserved parking. The view of the harbor and town from the deck is fantastic. The great shops and great restaurants are just steps away. Tom had recommended Ports of Italy for their great Italian cuisine. It was exquisite, such great food and casual attire acceptable. We have very high expectations when we travel and 29 Mckown far exceeded those expectations. Thank you again Tom for making this possible and please give Ruthie another well deserved treat.

Wonderful !!!

Had a most wonderful week in Boothbay staying in the spacious, clean and well accommodated property that has the best views! Tom was the perfect host along with Heidi his assistant in the office and Ruthie the Westie who seems to think she is in charge. We had daily visits from Tom and Ruthie and they were the highlights of the morning. Tom had plenty of information to guide on us the best excursions and tastiest restaurants to fill our stay. The last evening on our trip for the week Tom cordially invited us to partake dinner with a few of his friends for a quite delicious home cooked dinner on the main floor and we had a marvelous time. I have been making trips to Boothbay for 50 years or so now since a young child with the family and I cannot think of a better stay in all those years. We will most definitely stay here in all of our future trips. Tom......we can't thank you enough, see you soon.

Perfect!

It was a perfect week in the perfect location! Tom was an excellent host and provided a terrific list of things to do and see. (Trust him on the restaurants - he knows his stuff! ) The apartment was comfy and cozy and the deck was spacious and relaxing with a great view. If you like being in the center of things, this is the place to be!

Relaxing with plenty to do!

Jim and I very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely, spacious apartment. The view to the harbor from the balcony was beautiful and there was no shortage of things to do, even without a car. Tom (and Ruthie, his adorable Westie!) was a great host, making us feel comfortable and at home. He had plenty of suggestions of places to eat and go. We took in a lively jazz concert at the BB opera house, a five minute walk up the main road. The Friends of the BB Library has a great used bookstore right across the street. We took a two hour sailboat ride on the Lazy Jack, that pulls right out of the harbor several times a day. We kayaked, visited lighthouses, hiked and then slept restfully each night on the most comfortable bed! There is plenty of room for two people in this unit, and I loved the big bathroom. It was a super week, and we weren't ready to leave the following Saturday. We're already thinking about reserving our week for next year. Thanks Tom.....you, Heidi and Ruthie felt like old friends by the time we left.

Ideal Location & Great Harbor Views from Private Deck

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in this clean, well-appointed, and spacious apartment. The location is ideal, literally steps to shops, restaurants, and all the harbor has to offer. Enjoying the private deck was a highlight. We took advantage of many of the local outdoor activities including a variety of Land Trust trails and kayaking from the Botanical Gardens. Tom was a wonderful host, giving us privacy yet availability for questions and recommendations. An added bonus for us during our stay was Tom's Westie, Ruthie, who cheerfully greeted us whenever she was in the building.
