Located in downtown Asheville, Dragonfly Cottage Studio Apartment is a retreat space. This Studio Apartment with lovely fenced private yard and hot tub is a sweet part of that cottage. There is a large cosey high ceiling, living, dining and office area with many big windows looking on to a private fenced in back yard space. The bedroom is on a step up level with curtians dividing it from the living area. The kitchen is on a 3rd step up into the old basement area of the cottage. The kitchen has a rustic feel, with a microwave, toaster/airfryer, and two burner induction stove top and a sink original to the 1905 cottage. There is a combination LG washer and dryer and a refrigator. The bonas room is a closet with build in drawers. It has a couch that makes into a bed with the linens stored in the seat of the couch. The bathroom is a European design with southern flavor. It's like a creek bed with stone tiles flooring and open shower. Amphibians are painted on the antique wash stand vanity. Enjoy all that Asheville has to offer when you stay at Dragonfly Cottage. Downtown restaurants and shops, South Slope Breweries, The River Arts District, and music venues like Gray Eagle, Orange Peal and Asheville Ampitheather are all within walking distance. For traveling nurses the hospital is 3-5 minutes away.

The dragonfly cottage is wonderful! It's a very quick walk to downtown and a short drive to West Asheville. If you have pups there is a new dog park right next to the cottage which the host kindly told us. The bed is actually really comfortable (most rentals are not). It has a great back yard and a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

About the host

I am from Auburn, Alabama. Moved into this Cottage in 2015 and remodeled it durning Covid. I love Asheville! I kept my horses at the Biltmore until 2024 when I bought a farm near my daughter in Alabama. Now I go back and forth when my house is not rented. When the cottage sales I will retire to my horse farm but I am in no hurry to sale.
Why they chose this property
I love the downtown, close to everything. 3 minutes drive to the hospital, 5 min to front gate of the Biltmore. The diversity of a downtown neighborhood can be challenging for some who are not use to it but I love it and have never had a problem.
What makes this property unique
The age of the house 1905. The modern updates. The closeness to everything. The beauty of this warm inviting home.
