Living in the middle of nature on the Atlantic coast - Costa Vicentina Natural Park

Comfortably furnished apartments on an idyllic estate with lots of unspoilt nature on the incomparable west coast of Portugal.
The apartment has been renovated and furnished to meet modern demands without losing the special flair of the 'Monte' (farmhouse). A wood stove provides cozy warmth even in winter, the wood from our own forest is available. The old mud walls, typical of the region, give the house a unique living climate, warm in winter and cool in summer. Satellite capture and Internet via wheirless LAN.
Swimming pool, table tennis, garden chess, distant view of the Serra de Monchique, nature trails on our estate and our pets also make Monte da Choça so special.

Excursions: Monte da Choça is a wonderful base for great excursions. Visit the picturesque places on the coast such as Zambujeira do Mar Milfontes or Odeceixe, Santiago de Cacém with its Roman ruins or the western Algarve, with its charming cities Lagos, Sagres and the 'end of the world': Cabo São Vicente, The forested Monchique Mountains, with healing springs and thermal baths, open up a spectacular view of Portugal's west and south coast to Spain with the 'Foja' mountain (902 m).
For us, one of the most beautiful destinations is Mertola, right on the Spanish border. Time seems to have stood still since middle age. In addition to the only surviving mosque in Portugal, which is used today as a church, there is an imposing castle in which the rare red-winged falcon still breed today.

Hiking and nature: The Costa Vicentina Nature Park protects a uniquely beautiful coast which, along with unobstructed dream beaches, is also a hiking paradise. We are in the middle of the 'Rota Vicentina' hiking trail network, which opened in 2012, with 2 long-distance hiking trails and over 20 circular hikes on which we have played a major role and to which we are actively contributing. This enables you to hike the most beautiful corners of the coast without getting lost. You can reach the most beautiful sections from us, we have developed hiking suggestions and maps are also available.

We take great care of our nature trails on our estate and you are welcome to benefit from our extensive collection of nature books. ,

Surfing: Southwest Portugal is a paradise for surfers. There are good waves, especially in autumn to December, when it is already too cold elsewhere.

We rent surfboards and suits (please register in advance) and as a passionate surfer Rudolfo is happy to help and advise.

In summer, our boogy boards are very popular with children. We rent these free and short neoprene suits.

Schöne Lage, nette Leute

Wir haben ein größere Wohnung gemietet als was wir bekommen haben dar meinen Kindern nicht dabei war. Aber ganz klar war nicht den Entschädigung beim pries von Wohnung. War ein bisschen Traditionellen Portugal was uns dort gefällt hätte.

Exzellente Ferienwohnung in wunderschöner Gegend

Wir waren vergangenen Herbst auf Monte da Choça zu Gast und können das Domizil nur empfehlen. Eine kleine, aber feine Ferienwohnung, ausgestattet mit so ziemlich allem, was man sich in einem Urlaub wünscht. Besonders gemütlich wird's an einem kühlen Abend, wenn ein Feuerchen im Ofen brennt. Schön auch der Garten (wenn man bei der Grösse des Areals noch von Garten sprechen kann) inkl. Swimming Pool und Feuerstellen vor jeder Wohnung. Nicht zu vergessen die Tiere, die sich auf dem Areal tummeln, sehr zur Freude unserer Kinder. (Einziger Nachteil: Die Kinder waren schwer zu Ausflügen zu motivieren, weil sie viel lieber mit den Hunden spazieren gehen wollten als irgendwelche langweiligen Küsten zu sehen.) Zu guter Letzt ein herzliches Dankeschön an Rudolfo und seine Frau, die stets um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht sind. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Vielen Dank! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Heerlijke vakantie op een super locatie

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad op een fantastische locatie. Ons huisje was mooi, werd 2x per week schoongemaakt. De dieren die er rond liepen waren erg lief en dat maakte het nog gezelliger. De eigenaar Rudolfo kon ons goed informeren over de omgeving en we konden bij hem bodyboards en wetsuits lenen, wat ook fantastisch was. Het was heerlijk rustig, maar ook gezellig doordat er andere gasten waren. Iedereen had een eigen plekje om te zitten, maar op het enorme terrein waren er nog veel meer mogelijkheden om te zitten. Het enige wat niet klopte met de beschrijving is dat er geen airco was, maar dat was ook echt niet nodig. De temperatuur is zalig en het koelt 's nachts goed af. Ook ziet het zwembad er op de foto's groter uit dan het is, maar het is een heerlijk zwembad en echt groot genoeg! De stranden in de omgeving zijn geweldig en er zijn veel leuke restaurantjes in de buurt. Het afval sorteren is heel goed geregeld bij de huisjes en alle groen afval gaat gezellig naar de kippen, ganzen, het schaap, en het varken!

Wir kommen gerne wieder

Sehr schönes Objekt, sehr gut ausgestattet und schön ruhig gelegen. Besonders toll mit Kindern, da viele Tiere vor Ort sind. Surfer werden dort mit Sicherheit glücklich, da jede Menge wundervolle Strände in der Umgebung sind, die viele Möglichkeiten für unterschiedliche Level bieten. Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Vermieter, der immer einen Tipp auf Lager hat, sei es zum Surfen oder andere Aktivitäten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

It's a perfect little place and great hosts (Rudolfo & Angelica), great location and wonderful beaches & places to explore all within half hour drive. Great place for families of all ages... Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung mit herzlichem Vermieter

Diese Ferienwohnung ist sehr zu empfehlen für alle Naturliebhaber; die Lage ist traumhaft, abseits von großen Orten mit tollem Blick auf die Umgebung und trotzdem ist man nicht weit entfernt von der Küste, Wanderwegen und allen möglichen urbanen Annehmlichkeiten. Ein herrlicher Kamin, der oft wie durch Zauberhand schon abends brannte, macht diese Unterkunft auch im Winter gemütlich. Besonders schön war dieser Aufenthalt aber durch Rudolfo, der sich nicht nur liebevoll um uns kümmerte und viele gute Empfehlungen hatte, sondern sogar mit uns zusammen wanderte und mit unserem Sohn Schach spielte.

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung an der Costa Vicentina

Wir waren im September 2014 für eine Woche in Monte do Choca. Die Ferienwohnungen sind in traditionellen portugiesischen Bauernhäusern untergebracht. Unsere Wohnung war super schön, ruhig, sauber, gemütlich und urig, und mit allen modernen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet, die man sich für eine Ferienwohnung so wünscht: Ceranherd, Spülmaschine, Kaffeemaschine, Toaster, Flachbildschirm, offener Kamin und vieles mehr. Nach einer halben Woche wurde die Ferienwohnung gereinigt und Handtücher und Bettzeug wurde gewechselt. Vor dem Haus gibt es einen gemütlichen Garten mit einem sehr schönen und sauberen Pool. Der Garten vor dem Haus war nach einem langen Wandertag stets unser Lieblingsplatz um zu Relaxen und den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Die Ferienwohnung befindet sich ziemlich in der Mitte der Costa Vicentina und ist dadurch ein idealer Ausgangspunkt um die Trails der Rota Vicentina (fantastische Küstenwanderungen!) oder die vielen Strände und Buchten der Algarve zu entdecken. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und Cafes sind nur ein paar Minuten von der Ferienwohnung entfernt, allerdings braucht man ein Auto um dahin zu kommen. Unserer besonderer Dank geht an den Vermieter Rudolfo, der selber ein passionierter Surfer und Wanderer ist. Er hat uns während unseres Aufenthalts mit unbezahlbaren Tips versorgt und so unseren Urlaub zu einem besonderen Erlebnis gemacht. Wir können Monte da Choca uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und vergeben daher gerne die volle Punktezahl!

Prachtige locatie!

De huisjes zijn liefdevol ingericht, de tuin is een paradijs, het zwembad is fantastisch! Eigenaar Rudolfo zet zich met hart en ziel in om zijn gasten een heerlijke vakantie te bezorgen. Er is van alles te doen in de omgeving (o.a. Sagres, mooie stranden in Zambujeira en Odeceixe). Er zijn veel goede restaurants in de buurt. En de zon schijnt er elke dag (toen wij er waren...). Een plek om nooit te vergeten!

Traumhafter Ausgangspunkt im Alentejo

Sehr saubere Unterkunft in gemütlicher Atmosphäre auf einem wirklich traumhaften Areal, alle Einrichtungen sehr gut gepflegt. Für Familien ideal, Rudolfo kennt die Umgebung wie seine Westentasche und kann Tips für alle Gelegenheiten geben: Wander an den Klippen, Surfen, Restaurants, Spezialitäten usw. spricht super Deutsch. Von hier aus kann die gesamte Westküste bis zur Algarve erkundet werden. Idealer Standort für Leute, die was Unternehmen wollen und auch mal gemütlich relaxen!!
