The house has a nest thermostat system. There were clear instructions on how to use it. The floor is even heated. The house was 50 degrees when you arrived because the outside temperature was 8 degrees. The living room fire place is a gas fireplace just like in the other areas. Wood is not needed for the heat to warm up the room.
