About this property
An authentic country experience with all the modern amenities.
For your ultimate mountain getaway, stay in this clean, comfortable and inviting log home. With a fun mix of rustic and contemporary decor, this log home will give you an authentic country experience with all the modern amenities.
The spacious kitchen is equipped with all the basic cookware and serving ware to prepare a delicious meal. You will appreciate the dining area with a solid wood table and hand-carved chairs. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck while watch the wildlife go about their day. If you are in the mood for BBQ, make use of our gas grill on the back deck.
There are two ultra cozy bedrooms each with hand carved log beds. Bedroom 1 had a king size bed. The second bedroom with queen bunk bed and an en suite half bathroom. We have an extra long twin fold up bed located in the king bedroom closet which can be set up in one of the bedrooms or the living room - just let us know and we will set it out for you wherever you like.
In the living room, warm up during the winter months with the wood-burning stove or kick back and watch television with the family. With the “Smart TV”, stream Netflix, Hulu, YouTube or Amazon Prime.
After a long day of fun-filled activities, soak in the hot tub and let your body relax and rejuvenate. The hot tub is cleaned and maintained before/after each set of guests.
Guest access
Self check in by accessing a key from the lockbox. You will be provided a lockbox code found in the welcome letter.
There is ample parking on the driveway for up to five cars.
Interaction with guests:
We are happy to answer any questions and stop by, if needed. We are available through VRBO messaging, cell phone and text at any time of day - preferably not between the times 10 pm - 6 am :)
Other things to note:
We are happy to provide pet friendly accommodations! We allow house-trained dogs, but with some rules. First, it’s an extra $50 per pet for the stay. Further, we reserve the right to charge for any damage caused by the dog.
Second, please keep your dog in a crate if you leave the dog alone in the house for an extended period of time to avoid accidents in the house. We do not provide dog crates so please bring your own - along with a nice blanket and toys :)
Third, please clean up all dog waste in the yard. We do not supply poopbags, so please have your own supply.
Neighborhood overview
Conveniently located in between two entrances into Yosemite National Park - both 50 minute drives. 20 minutes to the historic town of Mariposa and 30 minutes to Oakhurst.
Our neighbors are friendly and enjoy the serenity of the area. So please respect the essence of the woods and keep the noise down after dark.

About the host
Hosted by Tchukon Shanks
Originally from upstate New York, I moved to San Francisco in my 20's and lived there for 18 years. I had quite an exciting life in the city but in my 40's realized I needed a change from big-city living, which brought me to the beautiful mountains of Mariposa. I was trained as a french chef and love to talk about anything food related. Some of my other interests include photography, horseback riding, white water rafting, hiking, off-roading and most importantly...spending time with my family :)
Why they chose this property
My father was traveling to Yosemite and made a wrong turn ... or should we say right turn. He found the area so charming that he called a real estate company and returned the following month to check out properties. He fell in love with this log cabin and the rest is history.
What makes this property unique
Located on eleven acres this cabin gives you plenty of privacy with all the comforts and style you would expect from a modern lifestyle.
