About this property

Charming and relaxing lake view cottage with beach access in Lexington

Located in Lexington, this cottage is a dream. Guests will find a perfect one-bedroom retreat featuring a queen bed and a cozy living room with a full size futon for extra comfort. Just a stone's throw away, enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Huron. The space stays comfortable year-round with heating and air conditioning. A serene bathroom includes a tub/shower, hair dryer for convenience and an on demand water heater, giving you plenty of hot water . Whether relaxing inside, from the wrap around porch or exploring nearby, guests can unwind in this awesome spot.

More details: The cottage has one bedroom, one bathroom, a sitting room, and a kitchen. The bedroom has a memory-foam queen mattress, a ceiling fan, a large closet, and windows with blackout curtains. In the sitting room there's a full size futon that is comfortable for guests to sleep, It is a upgraded spring futon mattress,. The cottage has Wifi , but no cable, dish, or live TV, so you'll need to stream entertainment or gaming from your accounts on a small, but big enough, TV. The kitchen too has a ceiling fan, along with a refrigerator-freezer, a two-burner ceramic cooktop, and a microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle, blender, and coffeemaker.
Neither the cottage nor the nearby beach are wheelchair accessible. There are three steps up to the cottage deck, with a railing on one side only, and a small step up
at the front door, into the cottage. Inside, it’s one step up from the entry hall to the kitchen, and also one step up from the entry hall to the bedroom. Both are marked with small “caution” signs. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, with well-maintained short one-lane dead-end unpaved roads that invite safe walking. The cottage has a fenced and gated 13’ x 20 ‘kennel run in the back and there are dogs at the neighboring properties. Dogs may not spend the night in the kennel run.
Other things to do and see:The very popular Bunny’s Frozen Custard is a must from June through September and is an easy six-minute walk from the cottage. Kids? They love the swinging bridge and its adjacent park in Croswell, six miles (11 minutes)
west of Lexington (turn west at the downtown stoplight). On your way to Croswell, 3 North Vines Winery and its open-air tasting room is a fun way to spend the afternoon; kids will enjoy it as well. About 12 minutes south, Lakeport State Park offers camping, as well as a separate day-use area 4 minutes away with a public beach, volleyball courts, and picnic areas. On-leash dogs are welcome. On your way back to the cottage, stop at Pepperoni Cow for a pizza-to-go and delicious ice cream from a large selection of flavors. In spring, if you get up early to watch an often-spectacular sunrise over Lake Huron, you'll be greeted by a dawn chorus of songbirds. And maybe in the evening you'll spread a blanket on the grass above the beach, or on the beach itself, to see the full moon rise, seemingly out of the lake. Stargazing is enchanting no matter what the season. Summer brings a bright array of wildflowers into bloom in surprising places. And in autumn, the trees along the bluff above the beach turn amazing colors. We hope you enjoy Lexington and your stay at our cottage!

We so appreciate the cleanliness of the property but it was also really functional and cute! The walk to the beach was short and the conditions at the lakeside were fantastic. The location of the property was ideal for our exploring the entire thumb coast. We will be back!

Although it rained my entire stay it was relaxing to see and hear the lake. It was just a few minute drive into town to do some shopping. The cottage was cozy, quiet and perfect for my short get away! Had the weather cooperated it would have been nice to enjoy the outdoor seating and walk along the shoreline. It was the perfect place to disconnect and catch up on some reading during the rainy weekend.

Very cute and functional cottage. Best suited for a couple but there is a roll out bed that could be used for small children. The house isn't big by any means but just the right size if you're using it as not much more than a home base. It has a nice kitchen and dining area. Living room is mainly just a couch with a small tv. There is a nice wraparound porch which would be perfect for late evening lounging. Just a short walk down to the water (I didn't make the walk) but you can see the water from the house so it's not too far and it has a beach. Everything in the house worked great though I didn't cook so I can't speak to the stove. But the way everything else hummed along, I can't imagine it would be any different. All in all, it is a very relaxing house and just a few miles from Lexington and a short drive back to Port Huron. There is a very thorough folder with all the information you could need. The host was also very responsive. I can definitely recommend this cottage for couples.

We love the lake and have always wanted a property close to the beach. We enjoy spending time outdoors with our dogs, relaxing on the large patio and walking the beach. We also love to head to the village (2 miles north) and attend the Lexington Theatre Shows, have dinner and explore the shops.

Why they chose this property

The view of the lake from our patio is nice and relaxing. A great place for conversation with the breeze, and sound of the lake. It is also a great place to watch freighters pass by.

What makes this property unique

It is a cute bungalow. Bright and feels beachy. The vaulted ceilings make it feel much larger that it is.
