Lodi Wine Cottage: Private Barrel Sauna + Orchard Stay

Welcome to Lodi Wine Cottage — a private country retreat tucked among cherry trees and vineyards in the heart of Lodi wine country.

This isn’t your typical neighborhood vacation rental. The cottage sits on our family’s rural property, surrounded by orchards, vineyards and open countryside, yet some of Lodi’s best wineries are just minutes down the road.

One of the highlights of the cottage is your own private wine-barrel sauna. Spend the afternoon wine tasting, then come home, pour a glass of wine and unwind in the sauna beneath the country sky.

Mornings here are just as special. Wake up to birdsong, take your coffee onto the front porch and watch the sun come up over the orchard. Depending on the season, you may see cherry blossoms, fruit hanging from the trees, vineyard harvest or the changing colors of the surrounding farmland.

Inside, the cottage is warm, comfortable and easy to settle into. Two bedrooms, king beds and twin bunks make it equally well suited for a couples’ wine weekend, friends traveling together or a family getaway.

Dogs are welcome too. The cottage has a large private fenced yard where they can safely enjoy the outdoors while you relax.

Guests have exclusive access to the cottage, private backyard and barrel sauna. You’re also welcome to enjoy the seasonal fruit growing around the property. When available, pick a few cherries, grapes or oranges and enjoy a little taste of the land during your stay.

And when you're ready to explore, you won't have to go far. Klinker Brick — our personal favorite — is less than a mile away, with Oak Ridge, Mettler Family Vineyards, Harney Lane and dozens of other Lodi wineries within an easy drive.

Come for the wine. Stay for the quiet mornings, orchard sunsets, starry nights and a little taste of country life in the place our family has called home for generations.

We had a great stay at the wine cottage. It was so nice and the property is located in such a nice part of Lodi. Lots of cool birds that serenade you during the day. We will definitely be back.

What a great find! Property was just as described. Very comfortable stay and well stocked. We went to Safeway and fixed dinner that night. We sat on the front porch until bedtime. Definitely could have stayed longer and will come back.

The property was welcoming to pets, however, we were not traveling with pets. The cottage is exactly as described and I would definitely recommend staying there. Cottage was clean, the beds were very comfortable beds and the host was exceptional. Property is surrounded by vineyards and was very peaceful and quiet.

I stayed here 3 years ago and lived it. Every time I come to Lodi, I always look to see if it’s available. I’m so glad that it is back up and available. It is a cute Cottage amongst the vineyards. The area is quiet and peaceful. Just what you need to relax and enjoy Lodi.

This cottage is much more than a vacation rental to our family — it’s part of our story.

I moved into this home when I was 13 and grew up surrounded by cherry orchards, vineyards, horses and family. Some of my favorite memories are riding horses through the vineyards with my grandpa Jimmy, a construction worker and good ol’ cowboy who loved horses, rode bulls and could build just about anything.

Grandpa Jimmy remodeled this cottage himself and built the home next door. Years later, my mom built her dream home here too, making this little piece of Lodi countryside the place generations of our family have called home.

Today, my husband and I have the privilege of sharing the cottage with people visiting Lodi. We hope you feel a little of the history and love that have always made this place special to us — and make a few memories of your own while you’re here.

There’s a reason our family has stayed rooted here for so many years.

This is the Lodi we know and love — country roads lined with vineyards, cherry orchards changing with the seasons, tractors in the distance and some of the area’s best wineries tucked among the farmland.

It feels wonderfully removed from town, yet everything that makes Lodi worth visiting is close by. Klinker Brick, our personal favorite, is less than a mile away, and dozens of wineries and tasting rooms are scattered throughout the surrounding countryside. Downtown Lodi is just a short drive away too.

The landscape changes throughout the year — cherry blossoms in spring, fruit on the trees, grapes ripening in the vineyards and the excitement of harvest.

It’s peaceful and unmistakably Lodi, and we’re excited for our guests to experience the place we’ve always known as home.

Lodi Wine Cottage gives you the chance to actually stay among the orchards and vineyards you came to wine country to experience.

Start the morning with coffee on the porch overlooking the cherry trees, spend the afternoon exploring nearby wineries, and come home to unwind in your own private wine-barrel sauna under the country sky.

The cottage itself has a character that comes from being a real family home rather than a purpose-built vacation rental. We’ve updated it for a comfortable stay while keeping the warmth and country charm that have always belonged here.

Depending on the season, you may even find cherries, grapes or oranges growing around the property — and when they’re ripe, you're welcome to pick some.

It’s a little bit of country life, a little bit of Lodi wine country, and an experience you won’t get from a hotel or a house in town.
