Fully stocked home. The kids loved all of the games and the fire pit for s'mores. Having a grill was great, as well. Easy access to the river! We had a great time!

What an amazing stay! We've rented from all the sites, and have stayed all over the world, and this house has been the most well stocked and welcoming place. The host was communicative and offered wonderful suggestions. Great location offering easy access to a quiet, but gorgeous spot on the New River Trail. Book it, don't think about it!

Thank you for noticing the extra luv we put into hosting at our Lodge. We are thrilled you had an amazing stay : )
The environment inside and out was gorgeous. I can tell the host loves their space, because they have put so many special and homey touches into the decor. They've labeled everything for ease of access which was very helpful. It felt like I was staying in my home away from home. I was able to bring my Great Dane mix, and he had a blast exploring the space and the trails. Dogs aren't allowed on the furniture, but that wasn't an issue because the host provided extra cushions and a sheet so I made a doggy bed for him and he was very comfy! This place has a great view, excellent amenities, and the location is unparalleled--out in nature, secluded enough for privacy, and stunningly beautiful. Gosh I love the mountains. I will absolutely be returning as soon as possible!

Jessica, we are so glad that you enjoyed so much about your stay. Thank you for your kind words! And thank you attending to the house rules and pet policy. We strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for all, including companion dogs. So, we are glad that the cushions worked out for a makeshift doggie bed. Thank you for tidying up on your departure. Looking forward to hosting you again! ; )
Overall we had a great stay. We stay close to the New River every year and this place was a good location from Claytor Lake, the New River Junction and if you have decent knees and climbing ability, a short trail walk from the back yard to the river. Great fishing. Place was plenty spacious enough for 8 adults. Internet was a bit spotty but to be expected in the mountains and the upstairs AC was out but since we weren’t there for most of the day it wasn’t an issue, as by nightfall it had cooled down enough to be comfortable with some fans on. Would definitely recommend this place for a long weekend stay.

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback! We’re really happy to hear you had a great stay and enjoyed the location, the spacious layout for your group, and that you’d recommend the Lodge. : )
We also wanted to follow up on your notes about the internet and the temperature upstairs. WiFi can be spotty in mountain areas, so we have Starlink satellite internet as part of the Lodge amenities to help with connectivity around trees and terrain. We’ve also added a mesh system with a node on each level to support up to 50 devices.
For the warmer temperatures on the third level—once we were made aware, we offered several options right away, including sending a technician to connect a backup unit that’s already on site. You decided to hold off at the time since cooler evenings made it comfortable. At checkout we had a technician inspect the system and make the recommended adjustments. Your comfort at the Lodge is our priority!
If there’s anything else we can do to make your next stay even better, we’d truly be glad to help. Thanks again for staying with us!
