About this property
Hideaway & Stargaze in the Montana Pines - Cozy 2BR Cabin on Creek near Glacier
Tucked into the quiet woods of the North Fork this warm and inviting 2-bed, 2-bath cabin is a peaceful escape where nature sets the pace. Wake to the sounds of a wandering mountain stream, sip coffee on the patio, and gather around the fire pit under the wide Montana sky. Thoughtfully designed for comfort and connection, it offers a secluded yet welcoming stay just a short drive from Polebridge's own entrance to Glacier National Park—perfect for rest, adventure, and unforgettable memories.
This off-the-grid cabin blends rugged Montana beauty with the comfort of a well-equipped modern home. Powered by solar and thoughtfully designed for ease, the cabin offers two bedrooms and two full baths—perfect for couples, friends, or a small family getaway. A large backyard with BBQ grill, fire pit, cornhole boards and large deck with dining table is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy one another's company.
Inside, you’ll find all the comforts you’d expect: Starlink internet, a fully stocked kitchen, cozy living space with large TV and streaming services, quality linens, hot showers, and reliable essentials that make unplugging feel effortless. Enjoy year-round comfort with both heating and air conditioning, so you can stay cozy on crisp Montana mornings and cool during warm summer afternoons. Large windows and vaulted ceilings invite in natural light and forest views, while the peaceful surroundings create the perfect backdrop for morning coffee or evenings under the stars.
Because this home is off-grid and remotely located, our cleaning team invests extra time traveling to the property and performing a meticulous, top-to-bottom clean. The cleaning fee helps us maintain the high standards of comfort and cleanliness our guests expect.
The property is over 2.5 acres in size, nestled along Whale Creek. Guests have access to the main home and large two car garage. Large outdoor area for barbecues, lawn games and a beautiful creekside fire pit.
Getting here is part of the adventure! From Columbia Falls, the North Fork Road is paved for the first 12 miles, with the remaining 32 miles to the cabin on dirt road. Conditions vary—expect potholes and dust on dry days, and mud when wet. Washboard like road conditions may exist in late summer. However, the pristine views & serenity make the drive worth it!!
If arriving from West Glacier via the Camas Bridge, the drive through the park is fully paved. Once you turn north onto North Fork Road, it becomes unpaved for the final 22 miles to the cabin.
We recommend allowing extra travel time and driving slowly—the journey is scenic, remote, and well worth it.
There are no gas stations or grocery stores in our area, so be sure to fuel up and stock up on food and drinks before you head up the road. There is no cellular coverage up the North Fork -- but Wifi is provided at the cabin for your convenience. WiFi calling is possible upon arrival.
Polebridge may be small, but it’s home to a few beloved local spots.
Home Ranch Bottoms is just south of Polebridge on the North Fork Road, known for their huckleberry margaritas, homemade pies, smash burgers and incredible live music.
The historic Polebridge Mercantile is famous for its homemade pastries and legendary huckleberry bear claws. They also rent paddleboards, inflatable kayaks and e-bikes to explore the North Fork of the Flathead River, Bowman or Kintla Lakes in Glacier National Park or a bike ride into the park to Big Prairie, known for large herds of elk (if you can catch them at the right time)!
Just next to the Mercantile is the Northern Lights Saloon. A 1916 homestead converted into a favorite watering hole, you can grab creative cocktails, catch live music and enjoy a tasty meal.
Many recreational opportunities exist in the area for exploring: a hike to Cyclone or Hornet fire lookouts, flyfishing or tubing down the North Fork, a drive to Kintla or Bowman Lake in Glacier to lounge on the beach with epic mountain views.
Access to Glacier:
Polebridge Ranger Station is 10 miles down the road, about 30 minutes - here you can visit Bowman and Kintla Lakes and access many hiking opportunities. (Please note: the Inside North Fork Road in the park is closed to vehicles. In order to get to West Glacier/Apgar/Lake McDonald -- you need to go back down the North Fork Road).
Apgar/West Glacier and the start of Going to the Sun Road is a little over an hour from the cabin, 33 miles. Travel back south, along the North Fork Road and turn left at the Camas Bridge.
Our co-host Liz and her husband, Max, live just down the road. Feel free to reach out if you need anything!
Please note: you are in grizzly bear country. Please use the bear-proof trash cans provided (one for recycling, one for regular trash). Bag all trash before placing it inside. Never leave food, coolers, or anything scented outdoors — even small items can attract curious visitors. Bear spray is provided in the home and should be carried with you on any/all outdoor adventures. When walking through the woods, travel with others, make noise, carry bear spray (and know how to use it!), be alert and do not run.
