About this property

GLACIER GLAMPING! STEPS FROM THE POLEBRIDGE MERCANTILE!

Cradled between the Continental Divide and the Whitefish Mountain Range just one mile from the northwest entrance to Glacier National Park is the electricity-free community of Polebridge. Made up of a handful of houses, cabins, a hostel and small ranches along the North Fork Road, the hub of this area is the historic Polebridge Mercantile and its neighboring Northern Lights Saloon—both powered by generators and solar panels (seasonal hours). "The Merc" is a one stop shop for locals and visitors alike and is famous throughout the state and region for its freshly baked goods, sandwiches and authentic personality. Just a stone's throw from the Wild & Scenic North Fork Flathead River you'll find our quaint "Cutthroat Cabin" is the ideal location for those looking to get away from it all or a launching point for your next Glacier National Park adventure. Here you'll find access to unlimited outdoor recreation from fly fishing to hiking to wildlife viewing and more, all the while enjoying the amazing views of the surrounding Northern and Canadian Rockies. The Cutthroat Cabin, named for NW Montana's native westslope cutthroat trout, is rustic, clean and comfortable with propane lights, oven and range, a hand-pump well in the kitchen and an antique wood burning stove. The bathroom is an outhouse. There is no electricity, the cabin is lit by propane wall sconces and portable propane and battery powered lanterns. There is no cell service or internet access. There is a public computer at the Mercantile and Wi-Fi available at nearby Home Ranch Bottoms. Quite possibly the cutest little outhouse in Polebridge too!

John and Stacy’s Cutthroat Cabin was an ideal home away from home for us and our group of friends. The North Fork is a vast and beautiful part of the country. Be aware that Pole Bridge is an off grid town, with no cell service, and the cabin didn’t have internet or any charging stations, so you’ll have to rely on a car or the saloon for those things.

Comfy, cute, and authentically rustic place. Grounds were gorgeous and recently mowed. Awesome fire pit with plenty of wood.

Great Place

Owner was very detailed about check-in and the supplies that were on hand. It was a little like living as the frontier people, except having propane. Enjoyed our stay!

Glamping

We had a relatively good stay. We didn’t realize that is was very far from the main entrance to Glacier, but that was our fault.

Fabulous rustic cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin in Polebridge. We loved the location and the remote area. The cabin was perfect for exploring Glacier National Park. We loved eating pizza from the Polebridge Mercantile or dinner at the Northern Lights Saloon, just a short walk away.

Perfect spot in Polebridge

I would highly recommend this cabin for a group looking to stay in the North Fork/Polebridge area. The cabin is spacious, well-kept, and has a beautiful yard and firepit area. Within easy walking distance of the Mercantile and Saloon, but far enough away to be totally isolated from all the bustle around the Mercantile itself.

Amazing!

It was perfect. It was everything we wanted and then some. We're already talking about when we will be able to make our next trip back to Polebridge. We've stayed at other places in and around Polebridge, but this has now become our favorite spot by far.

Great off grid cabin

Our family really enjoyed our time there. The property is beautiful, covered in trees, with a good view of the mountains. The place was clean, comfortable and everything worked well. We'd definitely stay there again in the future! As a matter of personal preference, we would have liked a mowed yard. The grass around the cabin was 2-3 feet tall, which made it a little tough for our kids to have space to play outside. Other than that, we really enjoyed the cabin!

A fun, relaxing spot to unplug for a few days

We loved this off-grid spot in Polebridge. It was so quiet and my favorite part was sitting on the porch in the morning with coffee and treats from the Merc, watching birds and listening to the breeze blowing the aspen trees. We are campers and backpackers so pumping water, lack of electricity, and outhouse were not a problem for us at all! Super comfortable place to relax and unwind and explore the North Fork area. Thank you!

Great off grid experience

The property was as described, it was a challenge to get tge hand water pump working adequately on the third day, the weather was extremely hot, so that was a bit difficult inside tge house in the evenings, we ended up buying a couple battery operated fans, which helped....it might be also helpful to have black out curtains available around the summer solstice, the evenings were very bright!

Quiet and Stars

It was a great get away, I loved my time there. Super quiet. Being a pioneer woman and pumping water. Yes, it was hot, and room needed time to cool down, yes there were pesky mosquitos, yes Polebridge was unusually crowded, but it was a most beautiful destination area. Grill worked fine, water pumped fine, I watered your herbs which I hope someone continues to do. One request: Stop using laundry soap with perfume in it, stop using dryer sheets. The perfume smell is a strong chemical odor and deterrant- I tried airing the covers and pillowcases for a full day. Thank you.

Cabin in the woods

My wife and I stayed at the cabin while we also camped at Quartz Lake in Glacier Park. The cabin was super clean and spacious. The propane lamps were enough to keep us warm, we never used the wood stove. The beds and pillows were super soft. We could not get the water pump to work but we had our own water, so no loss. They have firewood there for purchase if you need it, again, the propane lamps keep you plenty warm. The Mercantile store is walking distance but the road was a little muddy so we drove. The owners responded immediately leading up to the trip which was very reassuring. If we return to Polebridge in the future, we will for sure come back to Cutthroat Cabin!

Loved the seclusion of this sweet little cabin, with easy access to all the North Fork offers. Highly recommend. Would stay sgain given the opportunity. Don’t miss live music at Hkme Ranch Bottoms and a meal at Northern Lights Saloon. One day just got pizza at the merc to eat at the cabin. Had a wonderful time exploring with our Jeeps and kayaking the mountain lakes.
