Perched at Asheville Urban Campground in the heart of the River Arts District, “The Visionary” tiny home offers river views, bold artistic energy, and a stay unlike any other. This tiny home and its modern aesthetic sit between downtown and vibrant West Asheville, welcoming solo travelers, couples, and small groups — thoughtfully designed for those who travel differently and providing a picturesque view of the French Broad River. ______________________________________________________________
"The Visionary" is a compact, modern tiny home with a direct view over the French Broad River — arguably the finest view on the property. Its white exterior with a mint green stripe gives it a distinct personality before you've even stepped inside, and the interior delivers on that promise: clean lines, a modern neutral palette, creative lighting, and flowing geometric artwork that ties the whole aesthetic together, all while remaining inviting and cozy. The main living area features a fold-out sofa, a smart TV, a mini fridge, and a large window overlooking the French Broad — one of the oldest rivers on earth, right outside your window. When it's time to sleep, the loft awaits up the ladder: a queen bed, a lamp, a window with blackout curtains, and just enough storage to get settled in. It's snug by design.
Accessibility: The loft bed requires a ladder and some nimbleness to navigate. Guests with mobility considerations should keep this in mind — the fold-out sofa downstairs is a comfortable alternative at ground level.
Please note: This tiny home has no indoor plumbing or cooking inside the unit. Shared facilities — showers, bathrooms, and a kitchenette — are clean, newly remodeled, available 24/7, and just steps away.

Darling little spot, but for us as 70-year-olds it was not the ideal place. Beautiful location and I think other camp situations on the site would have suited us better. But we enjoyed our stay and certainly would recommend it to some younger people.
This property is for a young couple. Loft bed is a tight area with little space above bed to ceiling which also requires the need for the extremely thin foam "mattress" that felt like I was basically sleeping on the floor. The pillow were also horrible, felt like my head was practically laying on the floor, they offered no support whatsoever. The bathroom and shower facilities were nice, large shower areas with plenty of places to put clothes, toiletries and such. Other than the extremely poor comfort of the sleeping arrangements, the property is in a cool area right next to the French Broad River and close to the infamous River Arts district of Asheville.
Bowie communicated with me through the process. I asked him to call me in case I had trouble with the codes- to make sure I could get in. He called me and told me he was right outside, so we met and had a great talk about Asheville. The shower and bathrooms were very clean. A big plus is they provided clean towels. The only trouble I had was the internet on the tv was buffing (sp) and I wasnt able to watch a show. Bowie had told me if I needed any help with anything I could give him a call. But, at that point I figured it was user error, so I decided to not bother him and read instead. Asheville looks like a great place to explore. Check in was scheduled for 4 pm. I arrived early and was able to take a shower while my tiny home cleaning was being finished. I really appreciated that they let me in early as it was raining quite hard and I was quite soaked. The only other problem I had was waking up early and having to use the bathroom I had to walk to the shower/bathroom area. But, thats what happens when your almost 70 years old LOL. I would recommend staying here to anyone. The price was right, the people friendly. Next time I will stay for a few more days to take advantage of all Asheville has to offer.
