About the host
Hosted by Alan Bowen

Hi I'm Alan. I'm originally from Atlanta Georgia and still visit family there. I now find Asheville in the mountains of western North Carolina to be the perfect home for me. For the past 20 years I have run a pet sitting service here in Asheville. I love the outdoors, am an avid motorcyclist and a closet artist.
Why they chose this property
I just love old houses and West Asheville is the best! I bought this 1927 bungalow in 2000 from a good friend. Soon after great views from the rooftop while cleaning my gutters. That again jurney of designing building the great little loft I now love to share with travelers.
What makes this property unique
My home is in the heart of West Asheville which has become a mecca of unique restaurants, pubs, and breweries including new Belgium only .8 miles away and an easy walk. There are lots of other breweries in the neighborhood such as Altamont brewing, wedge, Urban Orchard just to name a few. Sierra Nevadas epic Mills River brewery only a short drive away and near Asheville regional airport. A great way to end your day after exploring, hiking biking etc in Dupont state forest or Nantahala national forest nearby
