Everything was so wonderful! We loved the house from the quaintness to the history it held. It was the perfect drive out from the Biltmore and some great coffee shops. Christine was very quick to respond to all our messages too! Overall visit was 5 star stay!

We were very pleased with the house. It was a very quiet location, even being close to the road we didn't hear the cars going by. It was exactly as advertised, we especially liked the tongue and groove walls and floor. On a moonless night the stars were incredible and there was a flock of 16 wild turkeys in the yard several days at dusk and dawn. The two big Toms with them were a site to see.The owner was very accommodating and responded to my questions promptly. The only problem we had was getting around using the GPS in our vehicle. The mountains made it difficult for the towers to triangulate and we ended up at the wrong place a couple of times. I recommend giving yourself extra time if you are going somewhere and need to be there at an exact time. There are a lot of quick turns until you get on the main highways and it can be confusing at times. The good news is if you miss a turn you can usually take the next street. The roads are under repair in a lot of places from Hurricane Helene, so it's another reason to give yourself plenty of time. If we go back to Asheville I definitely want to stay in this home again.
The wild turkeys in the backyard.
The view from the second bedroom.
A dusting of snow on the backyard.
We went on the Asheville Jeep Hiking and Waterfall Tour in the Pisgah National Forest. I would recommend it for a family outing. It was a fun filled four hours. I'm 70 and was able to hike the trails to the waterfalls, so was my 7 year old grandchild

I am a 5th generation Ashevillian and I love everything Asheville and our area has to offer. I especially love being able to share our homeplace with visitors.

Why they chose this property

I grew up in this neighborhood, where my family has lived for over 100 years. We are a working class neighborhood where neighbors look out for neighbors. Many of the folks in the neighborhood have been in here for generations.

What makes this property unique

The cottage sits on a large property and is so conveniently located to everything. You can be most anywhere in the Asheville area in around 15 minutes.
