There were 4 of us on this trip and this house was absolutely amazing. We each had our own room with plenty of space. The beds were very comfortable. The photos throughout the house are a really cool way to explore the history! We will definitely be renting from here again if we go to Williams!
Arrived pretty late, the directions for check in were clear and simple, the home was clean and ready for this tired group. The beds were great, I highly recommend

Perfect location!
The house was great and fully stocked. The location is perfect for day trips in the area. Kerry-Lynn was an excellent hostess. We will stay here again!
Our family came up to do the Polar Express and truly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous historical house. The location is awesome (walk to Safeway and downtown) and the large rooms had plenty of space for our group. We plan on making this a family tradition!
Vacations don’t get better than the Historic Yellow House
Our family trip to the Historic Yellow house in Williams exceeded our expectations in every way! Excellent location, amenities, communication and attention to little details such as welcome notes and decor helped us enjoy our time and create lasting memories. The perfect home away from home to enjoy a 4th of July weekend in Williams. Thank you so much for making this much needed vacation amazing!
We loved our stay at the Yellow House. We stayed over Christmas, and the house was decorated with a tree and lights and stockings and everything! House is within walking distance of all the Williams shops, restaurants and the train station. Highly recommended!
This beautiful historic home, which has been thoughtfully restored, has everything you need to retreat from everyday life. Each room in the home is exquisitely decorated. At the same time, the house has all the modern amenities you would need or want.
This gorgeous historical property was just as described. The house was clean and welcoming when we arrived, with beautiful holiday décor throughout. Every room is cozy and inviting. The beds are very comfortable. A 5-star review is just not enough to accurately describe how wonderful this house is.

Great historic house in a convenient location!
Six of us (and one dog) spent a week here in Williams. This house was perfect - plenty of room for everyone to spread out and comfortable common areas when we were all together. The history of the house is quite interesting. The location is great - Safeway and DQ are right out the back door and there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The house is extremely well stocked - the best I've ever seen for a VRBO rental. The owner was very friendly and responded quickly to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!
The fireplaces were welcome on the cold nights. We really liked the historic pictures and memorabilia in the cabinet upstairs.
The beds were comfortable and it was a quiet place to stay. This was helpful after spending our days hiking and driving back and forth between area sights.
We wished we could have moved the lodging with us to our next stay in Sednona.
The kitchen had everything we needed including sharp knives (which we almost never find in rentals). There were fun games for the kids to play too.
Thanks for a great stay!

We loved the Historic Yellow House in Williams.
This is the perfect place to stay! Kerry-Lynn was so welcoming and always available when or if we needed anything. We traveled from here to Sedona, Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. We saw so many places the week we stayed here and totally recommend staying in this beautifully restored home and traveling from here to see all of the sites in the area. You will not be disappointed. When you come, make sure you have breakfast at the Pine Country restaurant in Williams. The people there are so friendly and courteous, the food is delicious and the coffee is served in huge mugs. We loved it!! Thank you so much Kerry-Lynn for sharing your home! We loved it!

A Home away from home....
We were so excited to stay in the Yellow House on our trip to Arizona - the experience was beyond our expectations! Kerry-Lynn met us when we arrived to give a tour. There are many pieces in the home that relate to the house's history (furniture, photos, artifacts). My husband is part of the original family that owned the home & we enjoyed sitting in the parlor & reliving the stories. Each room is beautifully decorated with a great selection of fabrics & vintage or repurposed furniture. It was a pleasure to stay in a home that inspired so much creativity. The town was walking distance with some cute shops & live music. Staying in this home was the best part of our trip - Thank you for the invitation, we made such wonderful memories!
Great property. Home is beautifully decorated and filled with history in pictures, books and various beautifully displayes artifacts. Beds are comfy.. Host was fantastic and extremely willing to help with anything. Many welcoming touches throughout including refreshments in the fridge, tons of information about the local area and toiletries in the bathrooms.
I will definitely stay here again once I save up enough money. My only suggestion would be to add some fine gravel in the yard to cover the dirt. The yard is lovely but grass is very patchy and much dirt is exposed.. Our little white dogs were more beige or gray at the end of our stay.

Beautiful home inside and out
First of all, thank you Kerry-Lynn for being a gracious host. Secondly, this house was perfect for my 4-adult 4-children vacation. There was enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The three bathrooms made it easy for everyone to get ready. The kids loved being able to sit around the living room and tell ghost stories. We forgot our board games but conveniently Kerry-Lynn had some for us. It was so wonderful to go to Polar Express and the Grand Canyon trip and come home to a beautiful warm house. We made dinners and breakfasts in the gorgeous fully equipped kitchen. We had a great time. God-willing we will be returning in the future. Thank you.

A perfect Christmas in a perfect place!
This is such a lovely little home right in the middle of Williams...walking distance to everything. Steps to Safeway, DQ, and a short walk to dining and shopping. The house is beautifully decorated and was even decked for the Christmas holiday. It made our trip to the Polar Express perfect. There are two king beds with 3/4 baths, and a twin and loft upstairs. There is a queen with full en suite downstairs. In the great room is a beautiful dining table made from the home's old barnwood. It has a beautiful kitchen and large laundry room. TVs in all bedrooms and a beautiful fireplace in the great room. I have never seen a more organized or clean rental. The owners are kind and caring. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Phenomenal Home - Might as Well be a Museum
This home was everything we wished for times one hundred. Immaculately clean with absolutely every last detail covered. What do you need? No worries, they thought of it. My family (2 parents and 2 adult daughters) stayed here and wanted for nothing. Perfectly laid out with downstairs bedroom and bath along with kitchen laundry dining and living area. Upstairs 3 rooms 1 with on suite bath. Another bath shared by the other two bedrooms. All had TVs and heaters. Plenty of storage closet space sitting areas. The yard was fabulous with places to hang out and a gas grill. Behind the house is a Dairy Queen which dad LOVED. The other direction was a grocery so you can stock up for your meals. You can walk a few blocks to historic 66 to find shops food etc. Easy on off freeway and about 40 min to Grand Canyon. The owner has thought of every detail and was attentive throughout our stay. The efforts put into this home clearly come from love. We so enjoyed reading through the books about the homes history. This was truly the gem of our 4600 mile road trip. We were here in the fall so temps were great. There is no ac so keep in mind for summer. It was never an issue for us. Thank you for sharing this lovely piece of history with our family.
We rented this lovely historic home to treat our family/grandkids to ride the Polar Express. The house is centrally located to visit Route 66 and the shops in Williams. Safeway is conveniently located across the parking lot from the home. The house was clean and presented as it was described. I would just offer a couple of items to be aware of for future guests that I missed in the description. The home is heated by individual gas stoves in the bedrooms and main living area which was problematic with a 2 year old. The units are very hot to the touch and some of the rooms were quite cool due to not having central heat. The stairs were a challenge with young kids as well. We didn't think to bring a gate which would have been helpful. The beds were comfortable and the house was decorated beautifully for Christmas!

About the host
Hosted by Payce Mortensen
Our property manager Payce is here for you! Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and concerns that you may have about the home or the surrounding areas!
Why they chose this property
Payce is managing for the owners, Scott and Abby. Scott and Abby Skowronek fell in love with and purchased the Historic Yellow House in December 2021. The Historic Yellow House was owned by the same family for 93 years! Before that, it served as the bunkhouse and supervisor's office for the Saginaw & Manistee Lumber Mill. The rich history of the home and the area are fascinating. The previous owner’s (The Moede’s) watched the beautiful property fall into disrepair, and decided they had to do something. They bought the home in 2012 and carefully dis-assembled the entire property saving everything historic they could. Re-claimed wood, original floors and amazing stonework still remain. Artifacts and photos abound in the home. Charm and comfort of a bygone era welcome guests. A perfect 'summer cottage' in a wonderful mountain community. Scott and Abby look forward to starting new family traditions and memories in the Yellow Hose and want to share this special home with others as well.
What makes this property unique
The home is historic but the creature comforts are all fully modern! 800 thread count sheets, quality beds, comfortable chairs and reading nooks, fantastic kitchen, bright clean laundry room, fireplaces, original art, good books, games, tvs, Wi-Fi, grill, patios, gardens, fruit trees, off-street parking and the most convenient location in the middle of everything.
