About the host
Hosted by Bill
I am a life long Akron resident, with a love of the area, I am putting my House out for short term rental for the first time this month. I love to entertain and this will be a form of that.
Why they chose this property
As a child I would walk from our house at 1515 Jefferson, a mile west of Highland Square to catch the Saturday matinee at the Highland Theater which consisted of a comedy short such as the Three Stooges or the little Rascals then 3 cartoons, then the main feature, great fun. Fast forward a few or more decades and I still walk over to the Highland Square shop area. The theater is still there showing first run movies but now also you have a high end grocery store, several restaurants, Angel Falls coffee shop, a couple banks, library etc. still great fun.
What makes this property unique
The house is somewhat different but very functional in many ways. A large out side deck & patio that flows from the house through french doors for cookouts & gatherings. A library of several books on Akron past and present. It’s people and industry. The house was built in 1908 with lath and plaster walls so the rooms are more quiet than newer homes. From sliding pocket doors, to upholstered benches on the stair landings to the architectual niches and built ins.
