Granny's is perfect for all tourists: Families, Friends, Nature Enthusiasts, Adventure Seekers, Girls Get-away, Guys Get-away, Relaxing, and more! We take pride in our river front lodge and want to ensure every customer has an AAA+ experience. If anyone has a special request or service they would like please let us know. We are happy to help. Granny's is located in a private residential area of the New River Gorge National Park. Park Rangers offer safety and security to the community. Park Rangers have expert knowledge on local history, culture, local fauna & flora and more! Talking with a Park Ranger will give you a chance to discover local hidden gems. Some firewood is provided free of charge.Some extra amenities include: Keyless Entry, Books on local Wildlife, History, & Culture. A convenient amenity provided by the National Park Services: Public boat launch ramps. These ramps provided easy access to the New River for rafting, floating, fishing etc.. You can float to our location and various locations along the New River. There is no cameras on the property! Enjoy your vacation in privacy!

We loved our stay at Granny’s cottage. The house was clean and had everything we needed. I personally loved sitting out on the porch in the morning and drinking my coffee. Keep in mind that the river access is actually across the road, but it is still a wonderful location.

Great place to stay right on the river. (Stayed 2 nights.) Very convenient to NRG activities. Cabin seemed recently redone & was very nice. Couldn't use the river deck since it rained. Would stay again.

I enjoyed the story and charm of Granny’s Cabin, but unfortunately, I would not stay here again or recommend it.The cabin did not appear to have been recently cleaned when we arrived. There were dead bugs in the bathtub, sink, and window sills, ants throughout the kitchen and crawling on our covered toothbrushes, cigarette butts left in ashtrays on the porch, and a bee nest on the corner of the cabin. There was also a musty, damp smell that lingered on our clothes and hair.Be sure to save or write down the door code before arriving, as there is no cell service at the property.The internet went out our second night, leaving us with no way to communicate in an emergency. The host initially responded and said it would be restored, but after I followed up the next morning, I received no further communication. I understand internet outages are outside the host’s control, but communication would have been appreciated.With no cell service or internet, along with someone living in a shed-like structure across the road, I did not feel comfortable or safe staying another night, so we left a day early.A thorough cleaning and inspection shortly before guests arrive would make a big difference. Unfortunately, our experience with the cleanliness, communication, and safety concerns means we would not return.

Great place, very rustic but very clean. Beautiful location on the river. The only things that need some improvement would be the shower and the kitchen needs more utensils. The only way to get good water pressure is to take a cold shower. Besides that it’s wonderful. The train comes by daily, rafters floating by all day and the location is stunning. Get some hot water and more cooking items and it would be perfect. Thank you so much and we look forward to returning.

This was an excellent place to stay for our trip to the New River Gorge National Park. What a lovely location, right next to the river. Everything was perfect. We would certainly recommend it and would stay again if in the area.
